I have never taken offence to being called patient in a healthcare setting. I don’t know where the aversion to the word comes from. I do take offence to being called a client.

Although I understand why there's a desire to drift away from using the term "patient" to refer to a person with lived experience, but just replacing it with "person" often does not work because it's not specific enough and can even dilute meaning.
