Here is the Israeli Minister of Diaspora Affairs, spreading the antisemitic conspiracy theory that the Soros family are the puppet masters behind the election in Brazil yesterday. The Israeli Minister of Diaspora Affairs seems to see it as his job to make the Diaspora less safe.

The only reason I can think of for this news not being absolutely everywhere is that large media orgs donโ€™t want to be seen as putting their thumbs on the scales a week before election day. And thatโ€™s cowardly as shit.

The word prediction tool is actually not that good at doing human work, even coding which is the thing it was originally designed for. To the point that it can't even efficiently accomplish "hello world". Basically I'm saying John Connor was/will be right.

Never forget Sacco and Vanzetti the Anarchists, who got the electric chair just for being anarchists. Hideo Kojima mentioned them in Metal Gear Solid and Kurt Vonnegut wrote a book about them called Jailbird.

the us government blamed anarchists for the haymarket affair, though there isn't conclusive evidence, and also an anarchist shot a president so eventually the US deported anarchists

Kansas Dem Sen. nominee Adam Hamilton on trans rights: โ€œI donโ€™t think we should take a small group of people and bully them, pick on them, and hurt them. I understand one thing really clearly when it comes to transgender people, and that is Jesus told me I was to love my neighbor as I love myselfโ€

Jerubot ๐Ÿš€โœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿš reposted

I think the thing that bothers me about this line of reasoning the most is that it completely erases the fact that trans people were actively and significantly involved with the LGBT movement, and are now having rights which were gained from decades of struggle actively removed by erstwhile 'allies'

Read this if you want to see an evil cop looking for a redemption arc. This man led to the detainment and deportation of 10% of an entire town by ICE and made money doing it. Disappointed that otherwise great journalism wants to treat him as "conflicted" about his actions. He knows what he's doing.

Early this year, I visited Ingram, a TX town of ~1,900, to check out a tip. The area was starting to recover from its worst flood in a century. But as Latino workers drove to jobsites to help rebuild, the tipster said, a cop in a black Dodge Charger kept stopping them ... ๐Ÿงต

I remember growing up in the 90s and being told over and over how lucky I was to be past the era of student corporal punishment. Now it's clear that was just a pause to prepare for a huge ramp up. Genuinely this is less humane than the paddle.

Bellevue Police Capt John Stuck: โ€œWe get kids that once that school resource officer has put the gloves on, or they see that the gloves are on, they immediately comply without even touching them or doing anything. Which again, thatโ€™s a complete success for us.โ€ Hmm, where have I heard this before?

I can't promise you we'll win, but I can promise you that every successful civil rights movement has faced this exact hurdle. Dr Martin Luther King's Letter from Birmingham Jail covered it in his time beautifully.

I am entirely serious when I say that this should be seen as a moderate position. It specifically and surgically dismantles institutions that did not exist pre-9/11 and assigns their functions much as they were assigned pre-9/11.

Rep. Delia C. Ramirez has introduced a bill that would abolish not just ICE, but the DHS altogether, repealing the 2002 law establishing the agency and replacing it with one focused on protecting civil and human rights.
