the mainstream democrats do not want the republicans to face any consequences because they are on the same team, they are the same people, they are friends and colleages. their job is to occupy the positions of people who could actually oppose the republicans & make sure that never happens

Kamala Harris: I think that going in the direction of impeachment is not a good idea. I was in the Senate for the last go-round, and the votes aren’t there. I think after the election, we all have to just also agree that our attitude has to be to get stuff done…

quick reminder that “die hard republican voters” are not the only voters that exist, and that the ohio GOP’s success over the last decade rests on winning conservative and moderate independents.

i don't think i've ever seen a campaign do a murder-suicide before (decent chance this drags down the entire GOP ticket in the state)

americans dont actually know what the fuck they want and if you ask them along the way you will get a lot of nonsense garbage thanks to decades of right wing/msm propaganda.

I think the wildest thing about being post-twitter is that you can tell, just in regular conversation, when someone still uses it. There’s an underlying anger and a like… disconnect regarding what people actually think/care about?

Ben Collins@bencollins.bsky.social

It's not even the ethics of it. My career, my hobbies, my free time, hell, my whole life took off once I fully left Twitter. It is a place to go if you want to be stuck in a neverending race war feedback loop. Like not using ChatGPT, not using Twitter is a superpower. Remain employable; stay off it.

imagine a democrat who just absolutely shrugged at all those red state people who are stuck in their racist sexist mindsets and will never be dislodged, and instead spent their time appealing to aspirational americans who think our future is a multicultural wellspring. would never fucking lose.

republicans wrote us off long ago. you dont see republicans trying to win over clinton/obama/biden/kerry voters. and its more of an uphill climb for them. if dems spent 1/3 as much time cultivating their base as they do kissing the feet of republicans hoping theyll change, the party wouldnt lose

Precisely this. Democrats should write off the 77 million people who were fine voting for Trump, 70 million of them who may have done so three times, and instead focus on motivating the 100 million people who don't vote.

Here’s Kimberly Guilfoyle, Ambassador to Greece and Don Jr.'s ex, requesting $100,000 from a Trump donor while preparing for her congressional confirmation hearing. Even Tucker Carlson is calling this “completely nuts.” This administration is the grift that keeps on grifting.

My gosh. Mike Huckabee's top aide: —Covered up an embassy report on Israeli killings of 9 Americans —Fabricated Orwellian reports on Israeli settler violence & the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation" to make it sound good for Israel —Questioned staff on whether they were “pro-Israel” or “pro-Hamas”

Instead of building narrative liberalism has been stuck in this mode of taking power only after the right goes apeshit and kills a ton of people. We saw it after Reagan then Bush II then Trump. It’s a terrible way to operate, totally reactive.

Jason of the Resistance@jasongooljar.org

It really is shocking that they don't seem to think media matters at all. This is why we lost the narrative in 2024. The Right was able to build their narrative and here we are. I will say now however, they're having a difficult time because reality will break though eventually.

The way the Cornell victim is being publicly disbelieved by a lot of journalists, officials, and online posters is also a warning shot to every other victim not to dare to actually pursue a case against your rapist lest you suffer the same fate. It’s a means of protecting the status quo

I find one of the simplest ways to determine who can be a “safe space” in your life is to ask them their thoughts about specific young women in politics. (This especially works when speaking with older women.)

Every college in this country decided that expelling and/or sending the police to beat the shit out of their own students for the crime of being opposed to genocide was their top priority. That and giving Trump complete control of what they teach. Contrast that with how they treat rapists.

Luke O'Neil@lukeoneil47.bsky.social

Remember when the president of Cornell got so mad at some anti-Israeli-genocide protestors on campus he tried to hit some of his own students with his car?

NYT has now independently corroborated all the major allegations against Susan Collins in the ProPublica report, including that investigators were prepared to move against her and then Trump intervened to shut it down. This put Trump in a position of exceptional and extortionate leverage over her.

Five corporations control 90% of the US media. Airlines have merged from 12 major carriers in 1980 to 4 today. A handful of companies control the pharmaceutical industry. Four giants control 80% of meat processing. The evidence of corporate concentration is everywhere.

hello liberal democracies around the world, i hate to say it but you need to take a look at how successful the funding of fascist media in america has been for the far-right and you need to start counteracting this with your own dollars funding progressive media here

The Milo stuff is the perfect picture of fascism. You think you're protected because you go as big as you can on racism, you spend years harassing the movement's perceived enemies, you even disavow your own sexuality. They'll still throw you in a cage over the tiniest disagreement already forgotten.
