"In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people."

Dear newspaper editorial boards: At what point do you call for him to be removed from office? Are we not there?

He’s demented. He’s threatening nuclear war, a land invasion and assassination. He says he’ll “blow the shit out of them …You close it and you won't have a country… You won't even make it back to your fucking country… we’ll take over the rest of the country.”

If you're a regular reader of Letters From an American - or even if you're not - extrapolate this thought into this morning's Letter. Accountability. IMO it's the single most important element in a successful, sustainable path toward our future. substack.com/@heathercoxr...

I had another section on how letting Confederates off without accountability was the great mistake, but it muddied the piece. It’s a mistake we must not make again.

Luttig: Every single time Donald Trump opens his mouth or takes an action, the American people are forced to go into court and litigate. That’s the tragic place America finds itself in today. It is only the Supreme Court that is standing in the way of the American people saving their country.

Kelly: "You could pick a random group of people off the street tonight here in DC and they could probably do a better job than our government is doing right now. They don't have a goal, there's no strategic plan. And what this is likely to lead to is, again, a long war with a lot of dead Americans."

DOJ's recent 6th Circuit filing misspelled: Voters as “Votors” Emergency as "Emeregency" United States as "United Staes" And, it included a non-party in the caption. These are the people who want access to your sensitive voting records and who my team fights in court every day.

"Trump’s attacks on Iran this weekend .. are terrifying because they seem untethered alike from policy goals and logic. Trump offered a range of half-hearted explanations for his rush to war, but the conflicting excuses only underlined the obvious truth — he attacked Iran because he felt like it."

"We have at last found a global villain who matches the bugbear — an ill-informed violent despot who seems to enjoy carnage for its own sake, & who has the power & will to project terror & violence anywhere on earth for any reason or none. That global villain is, of course, President Donald Trump."

Nobody on earth wants to be “liberated” by the US right now, especially by this administration which will happily build resorts on the graves of the liberated and mine their bones for oil and minerals. We leave everything worse off than we found it. 1/2

The American bombardment of Iran has been launched without explanation, without Congress, without public support. Above all it has been launched without a coherent strategy for the Iranian people, and without a plan to let them build a legitimate Iranian state. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

I’m not watching, but this is the point where Dems should have rightly stood up and left the chamber en masse.

The American people electing Trump after he staged a coup attempt 5 years ago was a nail in the coffin of our democracy. You can rationalize it all you want - But inflation! As I said elsewhere: I know he's the president but there's no point in asking him questions. There's no value in his answers, no real information, just vomit outrage spew. I personally wouldn't bother asking his opinion on anything- it's an exercise in futility.
