Remember, before you upload your photo ID to some random service, you must verify the photo ID of the CEO of that company to verify the company is legitimate. If that company is unwilling to do that, they are probably not a legitimate company.

Was walking past this building and through the window saw this backrooms-ass room, so I accidentally took the coolest picture ever due to the window's reflection

Ferrets can be so good at hiding. Sometimes I have no idea where they went. Then there's Freddie.

Made like a dark, fucked up version of the realplayer logo haha. Just a glimpse into my dark reality. A full stare into my twisted perspective would make most simply go insane lmao

A big THANK YOU to Michael A. who gave me a tubeless but otherwise immaculate replacement viewfinder and remote lens focus control for the ITC-350. I spent an hour this afternoon transplanting the tube (and yoke) over and it's all good now!

Remote attestation is a heavily underdiscussed threat to computing freedom. People often mistakenly dismiss it with "I will run my own fork (of the OS or browser) / Magisk", not understanding that with hardware attestation, you're literally unable to 1/

Apple and Google are gradually expanding their use of hardware-based attestation. They're convincing a growing number of services to adopt it. Google's Play Integrity API and Apple's App Attest API are very similar. Apple brought it to the web via Privacy Pass, which Google intends on doing too.

Did you work on making these for STC back in the day? Know someone who did? Since 2016 I’ve been the STC repository and I’m looking for help on the Plessey MR9735 Teleview video generator. Https://binarydinosaurs.co.uk/STC

Samsung must be up to something legally questionable with the way they're playing streaming video to their TVs without it being specifically requested. Probably doing something odd with advertising metrics. I mean, they don't do it for any real streaming service other than their own. Just saying.

Thanks to my retirement from the Center for Astrophysics, my old email address jcm@cfa.harvard.edu no longer works. I had that email address for 38 years!! Before that I was JBVAD::JCM, CAVAD::JCM, and (1978) UK.AC.CAM.PHX::JCM4. I don't recall what my id was on the ICL machine at RGO in 1977.

Daylight Saving Time is increasingly hard to notice when my digital devices are like, "What? Nothing happened. We know what time it is." And my stove is left blinking and screaming, "IT HAPPENED! TIME SHIFTED UNNATURALLY! THEY'RE ALL LYING! ONLY I KNOW! ONLY I REMEMBER!"
