We updated how to start out euchre game. It’s gone back and forth between too little info about choices to too much. Here’s the latest rework of it. Thoughts? The newest is in the left. #screenshotssaturday detroit.games/euchre
What started with my partner complaining that Otter is blocked at work (can’t send confidential interviews to the cloud) triggered the “I can fix this, I’ve always wanted to build a Mac app” journey. I’ve learned a LOT building this tool, it’s been fun! kayit.press

with a bit of perspective, I wanted to write this post which reintroduces spaces as a new primitive for atproto! spaces are a deeply social & "atmospheric" primitive & I kinda think they uniquely thread the needle on our design goals
This looks cool. I used something similar in the past that used Facebook for comments on a private HOA website. Sheesh, that was had to moderate, and to use. Neighbors can be so toxic with each other :-( This looks much simpler!
ever since I had @danabra.mov on the show, I've been helplessly ATproto pilled - so ofc the first component I built to dogfeed @svebcomponents.dev is atmosphere themed! I couldn't have picked a better launch date either, because by xcanceling nitter twitter showed their commitment to a closed web. 🦋

We kicked off Zero to Agent in 30 Minutes this week with guest John Berryman. He set the stage by defining an agent as a large language model wrapped in two loops. An outer loop passes messages back and forth to the user. What turns an AI tool into an agent is the inner loop: bit.ly/3Rk10CY

I have a $30 stationary bike that I got at Goodwill and I have an old Android tablet stuck to it, but I don't have a Peloton membership. Nor do I have the interest to ride 80 miles to the beach. So I made PedalScape.com It's a local PWA, no backend at all, no tracking, just 4k bike rides.

I have a collection of bookmarks for all kinds of websites & web apps that do different things (mostly utility), but I use only a few of them frequently The SVG repo website is one of the most useful websites I know www.svgrepo.com/collections/ almost every time I need an #SVG logo I find it here
Google is destroying search. You won’t be able to tell the difference between paid words and legit content. No links back to the original source. Wow.
"For 25 years, Google Search was built on a contract. The web provided the content – billions of pages, freely linked, freely crawled. In return, Google sent people back. The link was the unit of exchange. [...] That contract is now broken." @matthiasott.com matthiasott.com/notes/ad-inf...
An excellent article that is an eye opener if you ever looked at the code of an svg and wondered how it actually works. I had that, oh wow this is actually pretty cool moment.
SVG is a transparent DOM, not a static image. Carmen Ansio strips the format to pure logic: coordinate systems, raw shapes, and CSS manipulation. Expose the mechanics, drop the visual tools, and write the code. www.carmenansio.com/articles/svg...

Just started doing new data analysis and I know I keep saying this, but: I really, really don't think people appreciate how much this moral panic was a deliberate and extremely expensive invention.
In 2022 I started tracking changes in how news outlets were describing trans people, and set up a bot to record every article pushed to the Google News index based on a handful of search phrases, including “biological sex” in both the US and UK. The amount in 2023 alone was absolutely staggering.
