Every single non-disabled person who is supporting the PIP cuts should be handed a £15k “disability costs” bill each year and asked how they plan on paying it. Because people don’t really need benefits? You’ll be able to find £15k on top of rent, food, utilities and your summer holiday? Right?

The Govt claiming we must drill more fossil fuels so we can use the tax revenues to fund the green transition is about as logical as a doctor telling you to smoke 2 packs a day to raise the money for your lung transplant You don’t put out a fire by pouring on more fuel 🔥#Jackdaw

Reckless for the climate, useless for energy security this decision shows the UK is prepared to gamble with our future and it sends a message out globally that others can do the same 🔥🌍

🚨 BREAKING: The UK Labour Government have approved the Jackdaw gas field. This a devastating betrayal of future generations. Jackdaw will make the UK even more dependent on the global gas market. This will do nothing to lower household energy bills and it is dishonest to pretend that it will.

There's a new Halloween Special next month from @2000ad.bsky.social and I won't lie... I mainly look forward to these for the next Thirteenth Floor instalment. They'll always be great. Plus, you know the rest will be entertaining too. Need more multi-part Thirteenth Floor stories, though

Foreign sec Ed Miliband tells people angered by Labour's past approach to Gaza: "We hear you. You were right." (It doesn't, of course, speak to those still concerned about the continued ban and mass arrests re. Palestine Action)

Ok, an update on this. It's made. It works. Now I'd value your input on what people think it should actually DO. I currently have a shortlist of 3 ideas. Welcoming more! Would appreciate a boost from UK #comics folk to get this in front of as many people as possible. #indiecomics #webcomics

To get things going, I've started pulling together a list-serv for UK comics creators and am looking for people to help me test it before taking it public. If you don't mind receiving a couple of emails then please DM/reply on here =)

If every statement about Extinction Rebellion had opened with "Climate change is the single biggest issue facing humanity, and we understand why people have legitimate concerns the world isn't doing enough to tackle it…" this approach might be *faintly* defensible. But they didn't, and it isn't.

They’re just pouring more fuel onto the fire. Why are the racists consistently called legitimate, whilst in a world that’s burning people who protest over climate change and genocide are not being afforded even a smidgeon of the same grace?

I want the Prime Minister to look into a TV camera and say the RNLI are heroes, that we do not change policy by street violence in this country, and that he expects any criminal action to face the full force of the law. That's it. That's all he has to do.

When I lived in the UK none of my concerns e.g. affordable housing, climate action, increases in welfare spending, scrapping tuition fees, an ethical foreign policy, were ever framed as legitimate concerns. lnstead I was routinely told to fuck off by most political parties for having such concerns.

But! I was already going to see the film anyway. Now I'm even more interested, because it's either: 1. A historical story that's not about Robin Hood. 2. An intentional historical story about how myths are formed in the popular conscious. 3. A car crash of studio interference. #2 is 100% my speed.

Amazing thread, and at its core is yet another example of why copyright should be modified back to people over corporations.

They disinvented the VCR. You might think that the reason we don't have VCRs anymore is because VCRs were supplanted by DVDs, PVRs and streaming, but that's not the case. They had it in for the VCR from the very start, and they never stopped trying to kill it. Eventually, they succeeded. 1/

I have written to the Cabinet Secretary to seek assurances that the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff, who was lobbying for the privatised water industry until recently, has had no involvement in talks about the future of Thames Water.

What Trump achieved is remarkable. Having previously been completely indifferent to the US football team, I felt the kind of relief when I saw they'd lost to Belgium as I normally feel when I wake up and see Reform have lost a by-election.

I have to say, it's making me feel a little insane hearing commentators say Ed Miliband shouldn't be chancellor because of his "ideological zeal" for Net Zero, in a week where temperatures are so extreme that my kids are being sent home early every day and it's regularly 30 degrees inside my house

When I won't shut up about Starmer's misuse of anti-terrorism powers setting up an awful future for us all? This. This is why.
