After much research I have perfected the theory of "AI as the One Ring". All AI techbros consistently fall under: - Knows it's bad, thinks they're just built different - Thinks it's inevitable and switches sides w/ no morals - Thinks it's his magic girlfriend - Evil CEO ruling over the rest of them

80 here, but saaaaame

My house is 100yrs old. Every project is 50% fixing whatever the hell the previous home owner was thinking, 30% figuring out the cause source of old water damage, 20% doing my originally intended work…. And 40% Dolomite…

No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

He lost me. I wasn't registered at my new address so I dipped and drove three hours to my old polling place to vote for Bob Fucking Dole. What put me over was him launching an invasion of Haiti a few months later because Walmat needed cheap Tshirts.

Clinton didn't lose any voters over Rwanda and Burundi where the death toll was much higher and the manner of killing was more brutal even if an intervention could have stopped it. It's good to be for peace, but voters care more about what's in it for them, not misdeeds done by foreigners far away.

"Mouse and Bear Try Cocaine" would be a banger of a kids' book.

The results suggest that cocaine, a popular drug used by an estimated 25 million people around the world, may rewire the genomes inside cells of the brain’s reward system, called dopaminergic neurons. www.404media.co/mice-cocaine...

With apologies to Stephen Jay Gould I am, somehow, less interested in the light weight and absent convolutions of David Brooks’ brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent comprise the editorial boards of every major American news media outlet.

Zero (0) of Epstein's victims had the ability to self-fund litigation against Epstein or anyone like him. The only way they had any chance is through contingency fee representation. Everyone in Big Law knows that, they sneer at it anyway because they know it's morally superior to their work.

Blake Emerson@blakeprof.bsky.social

Not the main point, but this is a real window into the elite law bias against contingency fees, which is the only way most non-rich people can get lawyers in civil matters. Particularly galling from Ruemmler, who decided the best thing to do after serving in the White House was to sell out
