Where Mehdi spends three minutes grilling his guest over 8 measly tweets in the span of 2 months. And that's a good clip? He even concedes the point! There's one person obsessed with Piker in this exchange, and it's not the one against whom the charge is being levied.
"What do you want me to say? You got me." - @mattyglesias.bsky.social From an exchange on Hasan Piker from my new Zeteo interview with the top centrist pundit Matthew Yglesias - on the left, Michigan, Gaza, immigration, polls, electability, and more: zeteo.com/p/matt-ygles...

Cosmopolitanism is a foundational democratic value. All anti-cosmopolitan ideologies are just different flavors of volkism.
i do unironically think people that are cosmopolitan need sorta paradoxically be more chauvinist about it tbh. places and people that are cosmopolitan in outlook are better than places that are provincially minded. the kind of performative handwringing about not being 'authentic' is bad and weak.

love it when anarchists say this because most "local community" councils irl in places like new england or small rural towns are typically deeply *right wing* and hate immigrants and queer people despite representing a "broad swathe" of the entire population. leftism is supposed to be COSMOPOLITAN.

Convince people who might otherwise vote Dem that it’s not worth it and suddenly you need fewer Republican voters. Flooding the media with “Dems suck” stories gets it out there and starts to push that story. So it’s important to have someone watching that and calling it bullshit.

C'mon man. Do better. This chart is misleading. Total private construction for 12/23 was $1,573B. Data centers was $1.9B. So the growth in data center and decline in all others, all others is still over 200X larger. The decline in all others is 1% and within normal fluctuations.

A MINNESOTA ICE OBSERVER NEEDS YOUR HELP ICE has been working with a local police department to charge an observer for tailing an ICE vehicle. She was doing nothing illegal. It’s an attempt to intimidate observers out of their constitutional rights. Help her (modest) legal defense fund.

Many replies this post are a variation of "trans surgeries on minors aren't even a thing, why concede to the RW framing" followed by "Actually they do happen and it's good that they happen". If the left politics website isn't clear on this, can we really expect the normies to be?

When you hear Piker’s contention that simply believing Israel should exist equates you with “a fucking rabid neo-Nazi,” you begin to see how Piker makes people who have recently been the subject of antisemitic violence in Michigan and all over the country a bit nervous. https://bit.ly/465YWSU

"[Waymos] are notorious for doing stupid and even dangerous shit" Brother do I have news for you about human-operated cars!
fucking courts my fallback plan: cities should have their traffic enforcement aggressively monitor waymo (and other self-driving) vehicles—they are notorious for doing stupid and even dangerous shit

What a misleading headline! The bill to "fix" CA-37 is $11 billion, as stated later in the article. $100M is just to widen a portion of a road that is already sinking under the waves. Note you don't need to vote on CA-37. That's because the state will just spend the money. Imagine that for transit!

Voters give Dems a majority for TWO years to fix all the things the GOP have broken, get impatient, & vote GOP again. And you wonder why Dems never get around to fixing other things. Imagine if Dems were given 12 years to fix things with a supermajority as FDR was given. 2 yrs of thin majority:
Every dollar they have spent on Haley Stevens ads is a dollar they aren't spending supporting a Republican in the general!
btw if you’re ticked at AIPAC for whatever reason them spending a maximum amount of money to barely lose is ideal, 10/10, just as a pure matter of don’t-know-ball and forward outcome for them as an organization. this cycle has been catastrophic for them purely in terms of inputs and outputs

Teach your children ‘democrats are not always good, but republicans ARE always bad’ and in 2026 you’ve covered like 90% of their practical civic education wrt voting.
The best thing about Vote Blue No Matter Who is that it unloads a lot of cognitive burden. I wanted Tom Steyer to be in the Governor's race, but he's not so I'm gonna vote for Becerra. I don't follow his campaign at all: I'm voting for him because he's not a Republican.

Thank you!!! We won by 14 votes in 2024 - and caused the MN house to be tied instead of a GOP/MAGA Majority. Appreciate all the help and please keep it coming.
I love Talarico and hope he wins. But he’s already raised $70M On the flipside, control of critical state legislatures will come down to seats where candidates raise 0.1% of that. I’ve researched the highest leverage swing district candidates you should donate to secure.actblue.com/donate/donat...
