It's less than a week since the wife of the king was pictured with the country's most vicious transphobe so no. It's business as usual as far as I can see.

England team doing well. Farage getting vigorously cunted. New progressive PM on the brink of entering Downing Street. Have we entered the other timeline? It's sketching me out.

Every year for Pride, I repost Hue. I made him to send love and comfort to those who feel Pride isn’t for them because they aren’t out. You matter, you are valid, and it’s ok if you aren’t ready yet. Coming out is not a requirement for being part of this community. Happy Pride 🌈

Forget the South China Sea, the real geopolitical battle of 2026 is being fought in the upholstery department of the Great Hall of the People. 🇨🇳 The passive-aggressive masterclass of the Chinese protocol team giving 6'3" Donald Trump a low-density, extra-squishy sofa so he sinks

The enduring appeal of the Star Wars series is because I saw the first movie when I was 10 years old (in the cinema that appears in Heartstopper). I don't care about your opinions. For me it is just baked in.

The Carry On actor Peter Butterworth was turned down for a role in the classic war film The Wooden Horse even though he was an actual PoW in the actual camp where the events actually took place. He was told he didn't look the part.

What's your "He actually broke his toe here" thing? The factoid you can't help but share whenever it comes up. For me, it's how the punk on the bus in Star Trek IV actually wrote and recorded the song that he's playing because he was annoyed the original song they had didn't sound punk at all.

Zhang Shan won the gold medal for the mixed skeet shooting event in the 1992 Olympics. The International Shooting Union *immediately* banned women from competing against men.

bex@blueraccoon.bsky.social

Fun fact: Women's sports are segregated not to protect women, but to protect *men* from losing *to* a woman. Don't believe me? Look up Jackie Mitchell. Struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Then suddenly women were unfit to play baseball.

The funny thing about Hannah Spencer is that she’s literally exactly what everyone pretends they want from politicians in political media: a working class woman who has broken into politics from a normal job, speaking her mind from genuine lived experience. And they fucking hate her for it lol

It's a shame that "defend your culture" always means "hate strangers different from you" and never "enact anti-pollution laws so that you can go fishing with your grandkids the way your grandpa taught you."

The "genius" of Farage is that he can convince about a third of the population that the ruination of Britain is in their own best interests.

Jo Wolff@jowolff.bsky.social

Ahhhh … the donor is a crypto guy who wants the UK to change its crypto rules which will turn his massive wealth to obscene riches and Farage supports the change. He lives abroad and seems unconcerned about funding the ruination of Britain as a side effect of his own financial agenda.

Sticking my neck out here but AI for *coding* is actually quite good now (as long as you remember who's in charge). Coding was never about hand typing reams of code (well it was but only through necessity). Over 40 years tech has changed again and again. This is just the latest iteration of that.

This is why we can't have nice things #100034...

Today, MSF is going public with something we've been fighting behind closed doors for months: Gilead will not sell us their new HIV drug, lenacapavir. The sticking point isn't even price, they just refuse to sell. Open letter linked + explainer 🧵1/ www.doctorswithoutborders.org/latest/gilea...

I would tag my MP but he, Peter Kyle, isn't even on this platform. He's sticking with the trans-hating Nazi. He's a gay man representing a Brighton constituency who's sold his soul and his local constituency for a cabinet position that he's not even any good at.

Stella Creasy MP@stellacreasy.bsky.social

tag your MP today in this to ask them to join us calling for proposals to end refugee status to be put to parliament so we can do our job and scrutinise the impact this could have on those already here in our country. This motion if debated could stop these proposals.

There is no ethical Harry Potter consumption. If you MUST do it, have the good sense to feel bad about it and keep it your shameful secret, knowing you are actively hurting people.

50 years ago today, @markhamillofficial.bsky.social was preparing to film his first scene in a small film called Star Wars. Before the first lines were spoken, this photo was taken in... a galaxy far far away.

🧵 These stories really are coming thick and fast at the moment🙄 Guess what? The Canadian school is NOT 'banning food at lunchtime' during Ramadan🤦‍♀️ Obviously... And if you BELIEVED it to be true, then you need to ask why you would choose to believe such an obviously ludicrous headline? 1/20

I can only dream of having this kind of courage and integrity.

On 16th March, 1968 Warrant Officer Hugh Thompson Jnr was flying helicopter recon for a US attack on My Lai, an alleged Viet Cong-controlled village in Vietnam. But as the attack developed below, Thompson realised he was witnessing something something else: A massacre. He decided to act. 1/28

Alice Ida Antoinette Guy-Blaché (1873 – 1968) was a French pioneer film director. She was one of the first filmmakers to make a narrative fiction film, as well as the first woman to direct a film. From 1896 to 1906, she was probably the only female filmmaker in the world. #CelebratingWomen

All the people saying "lol what's a banknote?" have obviously never tried to buy firewood - or anything really - off of a farmer in rural France. It's strictly "le liquide" only.

Oh boy! What a headline... Ask yourself: "What am I being asked to believe?" "Who am I being told to blame?" Take a few seconds to imagine what the Daily Mail (And Telegraph, GB News and Express) WANT you to think is going on. Let's see what's ACTUALLY happening...🧵 1/21

I don't understand why @labouruk.bsky.social is so desperate to alienate me. It was so easy, just keep behaving like decent human beings and I would always vote for them but instead they are determined to be just awful, hateful people. I'll never vote for them again.

Zoë Crowther@zoecrowther.bsky.social

Keir Starmer has written to all Labour MPs attacking the Green Party for embracing "divisive" and "sectarian" politics I'm picking up concern among Labour MPs about how this letter will come across to people who have voted/are tempted to vote Green, as it could risk further alienating these voters

Is there anything worse than men claiming to be able to fix women? 100% of the world’s problems would fixed if men forgot about women and just focused on their train sets instead.
