Jim Bakker, who, along with his then-wife Tammy Faye, built an evangelical empire around the hugely successful TV show “The PTL Club,” only to lose it all over a sex scandal and financial crimes, has died.

The Nebraska Farm Bureau is still "neutral" on the Governor's race and isn't endorsing Pillen. This is a big change from their endorsement of Pillen just four years ago. The Farm Bureau is known for nearly exclusively endorsing Republicans in agricultural states across the country.

DoorDash has ripped off more than 260,000 NYC delivery workers. We’re making them pay $131.5 million — the largest worker settlement in City history. This is New York, where hard work pays and greed will cost you.

Got a good job down at the Data Center. I work on the line, and it's hard work but it's honest and the wage is fair; my family and I are grateful for it. I rivet the word "absolutely" onto the little apologies that chatbots do when they misunderstand a prompt.

Hassett: "Data centers are very good for towns bc they create so many jobs & bring people in with high incomes that can buy houses & stuff like that. So if you take a sleepy town that hasn't seen much in the last 30 years & put a data center there, there are gonna be a bunch of happy residents."

“.. health insurance costs are growing at their fastest rate in almost two decades ..” $XLV

Guy Berger@econberger.bsky.social

3/ I didn't include it in the prior chart, but health insurance costs are growing at their fastest rate in almost two decades - that's probably at least a partial explanation for acceleration non-wage benefit costs.

The deadly production of asbestos linked Southern Africa - where it was mined - and Britain - where it was processed - but compensation for workers does not reflect this. Only £191k of the £127m in compensation has gone to claimants in Southern Africa: confrontpower.org/turner-and-n...

This month is the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act and it reminds me that the ADA could not be passed today. It probably couldn’t get a vote in committee today.

The stereotype that plaintiff‘s lawyers will intentionally bring bullshit cases annoys me to no end. I have every incentive to say no to bad cases because I will not get paid on them. Much stronger incentive in commercial practices to bring bullshit cases bc your client will stay pay you.

This essay already has more than 125,000 "reads". I hope it is read by executives at Costco, Home Depot and Lowe's Companies, since they have the power to stop selling a product that is literally killing workers.

Workers are dying making quartz countertops sold by Costco, Home Depot & Lowe’s. We do not need this product. Australia has banned making quartz countertops. Ikea only sells the safer alternative. Please tell Costco, Home Depot & Lowe’s to stop selling this deadly product. @theconversation.com

President Builder blew up a bunch of shit in Iran for no reason and now has his Real Estate Developer Son working on a surrender deal that makes 300B available for Building. im sure there's no weird corrupt throughline anywhere here

It’s both unbelievable and utterly predictable that the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Defense and the director of the CIA are all furiously distancing themselves from the Iran deal, which was negotiated by Trump’s golf pal and son-in-law

If these Iran-deal details are correct , they’ll make the JCPOA look like Hirohito’s surrender in 1945 Via the WSJ’s chief foreign-affairs correspondent
