Going through some of my drafts for blog posts and all I will say is that it's very good that in 2018 I didn't publish the one about how the correct way to make websites is with Webpack and Vue.
In 24 hours: GitHub outage, can't create new Google Ads, can't upgrade our MailChimp subscription.
Looking forward to the PR articles describing how these companies finish projects that used to take days in hours.
Was machen wir mit dem #Tankrabatt?
Die politische Entscheidung kann man selbst jetzt nicht ändern. Aber man kann für sich entscheiden, was man mit der Entlastung anfängt.
This is a thing everywhere in the world: on-site diesel generation is advertised as "backup" generation, but data centre operators plan to use it way, way more than that. Firmus in Australia now fighting against rules to limit pollution from their fossil-fuelled project
I have blamed
The agents
That hacked
Your website
And which
You probably
Reasonably thought
I controlled
Forgive me
I am rich
And unaccustomed
To taking responsibility

Tom Bombadil and the Witch-king of Angmar are the same person.
1. We never hear of Tom at all during the whole of the First Age. The Nine Rings aren't forged until the Second Age. QED.
2. You never see the two of them together.

Good articles that are illustrated with AI slop exist. There's also an infinite supply of good articles, so I need to decide quickly what to read and what to ignore. The probability of finding text slop with image slop is very high, so pardon me for ignoring your hard work if you taint it with slop.
Infinite back and forth between “Don’t make it any harder than it is and just get the best”
and “capitalism wants you to believe it’s about the gear, but in reality it’s about putting the time into practice and technique”
I mean I could get more markers and give my sketches better colors but I would still disappoint myself. Then again, my linework did get better thanks to Fudenosuke™️ brush pens and the COPIC® Ciao brush nibs do really complement them well.
If your computer does illegal things, you are responsible. If your computer does illegal things because of what your customer does with it, there’s laws for that too.
That whole please regulate AI is such bullshit. Except perhaps it’s time copyright law is actually enforced
I really hate the framing of these stories as "an AI agent broke out and hacked something."
No, an inadequate sandbox meant that a powerful and unpredictable computer program was set loose on the open internet by the company that designed it. The agency isn't with the "AI agent", it's with the firm
I've updated my post about rolling my own #video widget. It now covers a few edge cases that prevented video from playing on our website.
www.kooslooijesteijn.net/blog/respons...
Exactly that kind of thing initially made me think it was a bad idea to not use YouTube embeds, but our stats show that only about half of our visitors accept third party assets, so even without covering edge cases we're doing better already!
If someone is asked "Are you sexist/racist/islamophobic/antisemitic" and instead of saying "No" try to phrase their believes in what they think are acceptable terms, then that's just a really long "Yes"
By the end of next year, the projection for the average British household is a reduced income of about two and a half thousand pounds *just as a direct result of the Iran war*.
It’s truly insane what this guy has done to the world.
I had a "woah what is that" moment when they showed how the Duo closed and had a display on the other side too. But the price! Like, I'm not going to walk up to my flat, while watching a video, while texting, while holding a €2000 device in one hand and my keys in the other like that guy
Sometimes you look at an old HTML document and see some weird tags and snippets from bygone eras.
I've complied many legacy HTML bits I've noticed and documented what they were and why there were present. Many of them are rather obscure.

Ahw shit, imagine working at Calendly and announcing your redesign is going live in a week just around the time Google rolls out scheduling links right inside Google Calendar
If you reset it to 'default' position, western Europe is right at the point where it's least distorted, so maybe US representatives to the United Nations can admit it's not actually woke:
Been waiting to try the new Audacity ever since watching this video: youtube.com/watch?v=QYM3TWf_G38
Reactions of heavy users are predictable: lots of "But I liked that it looked like shit!"
As the video explains, users range from first time amateurs to professionals. I use audacity maybe a few times in some years. To me, the redesign is really well done 🤌🧑🍳
I just want to do be able to do some basic editing and effects. And it lets me do that just like that. Nice!
Take a break from being depressed that everything you love is being destroyed by slop for a moment and let me tell you about the beautiful symbiotic relationship between graffiti writers, train yard workers, and model train enthusiasts.
🎵 It's the time of the season for telling an Adobe sales agent I'm going to cancel the cloud subscription if they don't extend the limited twelve month offer once more 🍂🧡
Maybe I'm too much of an engineer, but I never liked the mic drop meme. Microphones are amazing, sensitive devices and the more I know learn about them, the more I appreciate them 🎤🫲
I hope you're hungry, because we're serving a greatly improved experience over on PersonalSit.es. We've got some cleaned up data and much improved tagging, so you can filter for and check out specific niches.
@standard.site hey is there already a proposal to define languages/locales for documents? Would be neat for non-English readers to find publications. And for English only speakers to not see translations in feeds/searches.
