This is a good point. The oligarchs, who if anything had it pretty easy under democracy, have thrown us to the fascist wolves. And they had another option. Let's remember that when reconstruction time arrives.

Paul-tergeist Crider@paulcrider.liberalcurrents.com

Elon Musk and the ultrawealthy far-right vanguard started all this. Reflect on that. The giga—now tera—rich have not been attacked or even taxed disproportionately. They've benefitted from liberal democracy more than anyone else. They have chosen a path of destruction and domination anyway.

I can’t believe I’m watching interviews of city mayors talking about how they are coordinating with other mayors to discuss how to protect their residents FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES I know we are “used to it” but it is absolutely insane

Marriott’s CEO said it straight: “We welcome all… we create opportunities for all… that’s who we are as a company.” He went back to his hotel to find 40K emails from Marriott associates worldwide saying “thank you.” Plenty of CEOs talk. Capuano showed up. Marriott still has my business.

It looks like someone has hacked a crosswalk button in Palo Alto to deliver at least two different messages in the voice of Elon Musk. (They are not complimentary)

He intends to leave the WH on his back, not on his feet, and he’s willing to destroy anything/everything to make that happen. He neither understand nor values our Constitution. He dgaf about our future. He’s just running from the law; trying to break it faster than it can catch up.

We expected 2,000 people out in GOP-held Greeley, Colorado. 11,000 people showed up. Something special is happening, folks. Now is the time to organize in every dimension possible and get to work.

this stuff is happening across the country and even more intensively downstream of the veterans admin but it's happening in so many places at once and without any public notification that it's still only barely emerging in the news

A friend drove two hours today for her breast cancer chemotherapy only to learn it was canceled due to NIH cuts. Clinical trial ended midstream. No treatment, no restart, no plan, no information. Her bro-in-law's chemo was also canceled.

Just so we’re all clear, the Supreme Court *expressly ruled* that the president cannot fire FTC commissioners without cause in 1935’s Humphrey’s Executor. Trump’s action here is brazenly illegal under any interpretation of the law as it stands. www.reuters.com/world/us/tru...

I did a lot research into how a shutdown might play out, and there was lots to fear; not least that the Trump/Musk/Vought axis of MAGA extremists would love a shutdown, and want a long one, and use it to cruel advantage. What was there to fear?

From banned books to banned words, Trump's no-no's include: "biased," "climate science," "women," "socioeconomic," "underprivileged," and "inequality." “Men” is not on the taboo list, in deference to the political ascendency of the Manosphere, of course.

newrepublic.comThe 199 Things You Can’t Say in the Trump AdministrationIt’s no surprise that the president deleted “climate change” from government websites. But why forbid “advocate” and “institutional”?
