What a beautiful shot - can see this in my minds eye when having visited some lovely wildlife places 🥰
The reeds move with the wind. Water follows its timeless course. Quiet moments gather along the shore. Silence drifts across the landscape. Nature reminds us to be still. #greategret #photography #nature #birds #naturephotography #wildlifephotography

Please say no to plastic grass. This ugly stuff removes food & shelter for wildlife including bees, butterflies and birds; has a high carbon footprint; sheds micro-plastics which wash into our rivers and seas. Create a wildlife-friendly space instead. More littlegreenspace.org.uk/features/gra... 🐝

I so agree with this approach - as the sun shines & the wind blows, let's capture it and share the green energy across the UK, rather than relying on fossil fuels, with prices dictated by powers who decide to start a war. www.libdems.org.uk/news/article...

A Tory Government would set the green agenda back years, as well as make us more dependent on expensive fossils fuels for years to come. Solar would help to bring down household bills from day one of any solar installations. bylinetimes.com/2026/10/05/c...
The Tories really are Climate Change deniers. Shocking!
🔴 Conservative Plan to Scrap Solar Rules for New Homes Would Lock Millions Into Gas Use Pledge to abolish the Future Homes Standard is branded ‘a plan for poor housing and high bills’ by fuel poverty campaigners, as the solar sector urges the party to think again bylinetimes.com/2026/10/05/c...

This is pure madness! Three things cause concern when new homes are built 1) lack of community infrastructure 🏥🦷📚 2) failure to deliver affordable homes 🏠 3) homes without solar/low carbon measures ☀️ Tories have this v wrong www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

So both parents could be earning £99K and they would qualify. I didn't think the Tories liked benefits! www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Byline Times’ chief reporter has been blocked from attending the Conservative Party conference, just weeks after leader Kemi Badenoch called Reform’s decision to bar several journalists from their own conference “authoritarian” and an attack on the “free press”. bylinetimes.com/2026/09/30/k...

So this is what is has come to - the Conservative Party are now banning candidates from standing in elections who don't believe we should be trying to meet our 2050 net zero target or that we should be signed up to the ECHR - watch out any sitting Tory MP who thought they were in a safe seat!
Imagine seeing droughts, wildfires and new diseases and thinking that we should abandon climate targets. The Conservatives are now banning candidates from standing in elections if they believe in taking action to protect the environment. We need politicians who follow science.
Is it right that one person can have so much power? So much for being a democratic country! www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
The People's Emergency Briefing is certainly worth watching - it really brings it home that the Climate & Nature Crisis is not an idle threat to how we need to change the way we do things on this planet, but a real necessity for future generations.
🎥 Three chances to see the People's Emergency Briefing (from @nebriefing.bsky.social) near you: Virginia Water (Fri 28 Aug), Englefield Green (Tue 22 Sept), St John's Eco Church, Egham (Mon 21 Sept). Rational, hopeful, and worth the evening. 🌱 #RunnymedeAndWeybridge
This is such a simple solution with the technology being proven in many other countries. Why are our Governments so resistant to doing the right thing? With a record breaking summer they need to wake up before it's too late 😖
As Britain swelters through another heatwave, few people will have heard that ministers have quietly dropped plans for solar carports. Cars cooler in summer. Shelter from the rain in winter. Clean electricity all year round. A missed opportunity?

I was amazed but maybe not surprised that the 7AM #Radio4 news this morning had no mention that it's 10 years since the UK voted for #Brexit. It has contributed greatly to the divided Britain we have today & removed opportunities for so many. www.runnymedelibdems.org.uk/news/article...
It's 4 years since I brought a motion to Runnymede Council to ask for support for The Great Big Green Week. And it's happening again this week right across the country. Have a look and see how you can get involved. www.runnymedelibdems.org.uk/news/article...

"The fact that the party which is leading in all of the national opinion polls is now using the sort of rhetoric previously reserved for the very fringes of the far-right is deeply alarming – as is the fact that this rhetoric is being publicised and normalised by Reform’s media supporters."

Our current First Past the Post voting system really needs to change. When you look at some results from the recent local elections most people who voted did not vote for the elected candidate. How can that be fair? No wonder some can't be bothered to vote at all!
Delegates overwhelmingly passed a motion at the CWU's annual conference in Bournemouth warning that “FPTP is producing unrepresentative results and is at crisis point,” also describing it as “unsustainable and dangerous”. buff.ly/pZxxq61
Reform UK group, which was elected with 28 members in May 2025 in Cornwall, is now down to 21, a loss of a quarter of its elected councillors. No wonder people are getting fed up with politics 🤬

www.libdems.org.uk/fairvotes Our current electoral system, First Past the Post, robs millions of voters of voice. It results in many voters being ignored & silenced by a political system that is supposed to represent them. LibDems have been fighting for a better voting system for decades.

The Government has agreed to incorporate @MaxWilkinson.bsky.social's Sunshine Bill into their Future Homes Standard. All new homes from 2028 will come with solar panels. This will reduce bills for owners, reduce pressure on the energy grid and fight climate change. It’s a Lib Dem win-win-win.
