I'm not sure how much more blatant it can get that these guys are looting the federal government and then pointing over there and saying "look what THOSE BLACK PEOPLE ARE GETTING AWAY WITH!!!" bsky.app/profile/atru...

Stephen Miller claims Somali-Americans in Minnesota are "buying Mercedes, buying BMWs, they buy a nice house, all their kids fly first class all over the world" (This is a lie!)

😳 Trump loses it and SNAPS at a string of reporters, says Ilhan Omar might "go to jail," calls Somalia "a shit house," and boasts that thanks to a new program he announced today Americans "will make millions of dollars by turning others in" during absolutely deranged Oval Office event Supercut:

A real nightmare scenario here for folks who take a public stand for their queer communities, but also real courage. Jey's old school Science Twitter, and has been using that skillset to organize against gender Lysenkoism. There's a gofundme to help with medical expenses here: gofund.me/ee804efbf

I read a lot of conservative media, and let me just say that this Washpost house editorial is one of the most shameful pieces of unsubstantiated, free-market claptrap that has been published all year, by anyone. Barely a mention of the thousands of deaths caused by US aid cutbacks.

I continue to be gobsmacked at 1) how common this formulation is 2) how antisemitic and generally bigoted it is 3) and how for all the talk of anti-semitism this is never cited as an example even though it’s quite literally the original incarnation.

What does this imply for those of us who are not Christian, and who labor under the assumption that we're protected by the First Amendment?

Churchill’s “We shall fight on the beaches” speech lasts 36 minutes. Our own speech in the Fund Crisis took 30 minutes. Dr. King at the Lincoln Memorial spoke for 16 minutes. Bobby, after Dr. King’s death, spoke for six minutes.

Anne Caprara@annecaprara.bsky.social

I am a chief of staff by trade but a speechwriter by passion - if the reports are true and Trump is giving a 2 hour SOTU then that is a crime against speeches. There is no speech ever that should go that long. Not even if Jesus and Lincoln decided to rise from the dead and give a joint address.

INBOX: Rep. Thomas Massie, who has enraged Trump for his insistence on blocking tariffs and releasing the Epstein files according to the law, just issued what is widely known among Chinese dissidents as "a declaration of no suicidal intent" (不自殺聲明), a sign of extreme distress.

Sometimes very hard not to feel like the rest of the country has abandoned Minnesota. We STILL have ICE everywhere. Our schools, businesses, and economy are in profound crisis. But without Bovino here throwing tear gas, much of the country seems to not care at all what’s being done to us.

As we grieve for Alex Pretti and Renee Good in MN, please do not forget Victor Manuel Diaz, who died in ICE custody after being taken from here. And all others who have died in their custody.

Worse than Kent State, really than any episode I can think of probably dating back to Reconstruc & earlier b/c 1. continuing, not 1 off. 2. organized, not individual ofcrs losing it 3. literally at hand of federal government, which is 4. immediately lying & circling the wagons to prevent inves.

Saint Paul schools will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday to prepare for optional online learning. I’ve seen schools close for snow, for pandemic, for natural disaster. I’ve never seen schools close because of threat from our own government.

An unacceptable violation of the First Amendment by the Trump Administration. And before you even start talking about retaining classified documents lets remember that the most egregious breach by far in recent years was committed by Trump himself.

Breaking news: The FBI executed a search warrant Wednesday morning at a Washington Post reporter’s home as part of an investigation into a government contractor accused of illegally retaining classified government materials.

I know this feels impossible now, but I swear, on January 6 itself, there was a pretty broad bipartisan consensus that storming the Capitol to find and kill lawmakers was bad, and that Trump was responsible for inciting his followers to try it

Imagine an administration killing people simply for blood lust and because they are Brown. Imagine an entire White House and cabinet made up of liars, racists, rapists, child sex predators, thieves, murderers, and genocidal maniacs, some are all of the above. Welcome to the United States.

Lofgren: Now, instead of the president weighing in, we’ve got him doing weird little dances as he lands in Asia, and he’s missing in action. The Senate is refusing to negotiate across party lines, and the House of Representatives isn’t even meeting. I mean, I’ve never seen anything like this.

We need to dispel some rumors. There is ZERO fentanyl trafficking on both of our HIMI islands. In fact, while our Gentoo penguins can travel hundreds of miles to bring partners their favorite pebble, they are incapable and unwilling of carrying even an ounce of illicit drugs.
