Yeah I don’t wanna hear anything about the Dan Sullivan scandal. The GOP does this all the time. Peltola didn’t know about it. The main source was fired and retracted their story. And even if the campaign DID do it, fight fire with fire. It’s legal. Just like gerrymandering.

The President was credibly accused of rape this week.

The New York Times@nytimes.com

Operatives aligned with Alaska Democratic Senate nominee Mary Peltola spent months recruiting candidates to peel votes from her Republican rival. The group worked to coax would-be spoilers into the race to dilute the incumbent's support and help catapult Peltola to victory. trib.al/gWKhuWh

Lina Khan on Mamdani: "One thing we saw the mayor be very attentive to is all sorts of daily nickel and diming -- taking on junk fees, subscription traps. Those can seem very micro and targeted, but in the aggregate I see those as really designed to take on unfair methods of competition."

So how did Lula come from behind to defeat Bolsonaro? In short, turnout. Bolsonaro's vote share barely moved. But Lula banked millions of votes from those who didn't vote in the first round & won eliminated candidates' votes. A remarkable mobilisation. Second round turnout is usually below first.

Huge problem is that even if you pay high premiums on ACA exchanges, denials of coverage persist--so that you have to spend so much time on the phone fighting, for what is clearly supposed to be covered. The insurance companies are getting away with murder. And theft. Literally.

seriously, this is really important - the board says the change was necessary to ensure Zuck stayed in California. But Brian's point is, even if he left, he'd still be subject to the tax. Which means "i need to leave bc TAX" never made sense.

Let's just clear up one or two things about this Zuckerberg story. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/22/b... 1. Moving in September would not have reduced the billionaire tax at all. At best, it would have given him standing to bring a long-shot retroactivity argument that will get rational-basis review.

one of the things that's going to be really important once we get out of this is telling the story of what actually happened in 2025 and 2026. There are going to be a lot of powerful people who were very wrong who will depend on society memory holing what happened in this period.
