Not only an incredible talent, but a rare talent who also thought it was funny to just voice random memes every once in a while

A lot of anti AI sentiment is libidnal rage that the Other now has a ladder they cant pull up. That AI makes something possible for someone who wasn't supposed to be able to do it.

SE Gyges@segyges.bsky.social

being anti AI is a luxury belief only available to first world people, especially Americans imagine how important machine translation is for people whose first languages aren't that common

People abroad don't understand the level of interference Meta & bots had in these elections. 5 days before the election a far-right politician posted a fake news video that got 157 MILLION views on Instagram in 24hs. For reference, GTA 6's reveal trailer got 90 million views on YouTube in 24hs.

Seen many comments of people questioning Brasil's electronic voting system, based on assumptions that don't get into how the machine and the structure of the elections work Please read into how it works We've had decades of experience to conclude the benefits outweights the "idk, i cant trust it"

- experience wonderful new animation from diverse independent creators yes glitch productions - only 8 episodes ever no glitch productions

Brazil is… wow. Nationally, regionally, hemispherically, globally important election result. A choice against democratic backsliding. May it be a significant point in an international trend.

dear tom scott: maybe it's still not late to repair the damage caused by your video on electronic voting

I'm sorry but banning non-English speakers because machine translation is unclean is more fascist than anything in the AI space except maybe Palantir's XAI enterprise account

hikikomorphism@hikikomorphism.bsky.social

hooooo boy we don't like this no we don't > If you don't speak English, you need to find a different community. We cannot distinguish between AI-written and AI-translated. Since you don't speak English, you can't even verify yourself if it translated correctly. www.reddit.com/r/opensource...

As a trans femme who works with AI the anti ai side isnt taken seriously because the anti ai side lies to peoples faces about basic things that people can see with their face eyes arent true. Maybe stop doing that lol.

im speaking to no one here with this but i just find it very funny to see xkeeper be followed by some very Not anti-AI people

I wish more people understood that using AI and being generally in favor of a technology does not equate to supporting any and all usage/implementation of that technology. We all already understand this about computers, the internet, software, cameras, GPS, pharma, etc.

+100 either you made the best software or not we're in this phase of shipping fast janky things and I'll be the first to say it's fun and often useful, but we will also see big new tentpoles calcify into 'best' with sustained evolution and polish, with care, with firm thoughtful direction

codewright@codewright.bsky.social

To me the right reaction to being told "I don't want to try it because it was made with AI" is not self-righteous indignation. The right reaction is to keep on working until it is undeniably the best and most useful thing it can be, out-competing alternatives by a mile.

Trying to contain the (not actually real) excitement of being part of 0.000001% of an official toy story video game by the fact they would go out of their way to Not name a music track exactly the same way i did when i ripped the soundtrack but then left it in the files anyways

it's missing an unused song (already wasn't expecting tbh. i allow you to use my fixed™ versions though. lol) - toy story racer PS1 lists an unused track as "title screen" though the real title screen song is a much shorter track (i'm glad people get to hear it though) +

nitpicks: "LCD" shader is actually a dot matrix, which isn't technically correct for GBC games (which Those are the LCD ones) everything else is pretty good. as usual keep up the good work

anyways, will take the opportunity to talk about the game (toy story retro roundup) - digital eclipse if you're looking, here's my unasked autistic feedback: audio in the PS1 emulation sounds *half* a semitone higher than it should (probably being played slightly faster) +

music player stuff: buzz lightyear of star command PS1 is Missing tracks (victory, lose, zurg's throne room), and one track (credits) starts playing at the Halfway point (because that's how it is in the US release because of a glitch!) TS racer GBC wave ch sounds too muffled +

just as an aside. just like what the movie Jaws did to sharks, i think(half jest. half serious) that this single panel has done some sort of irreparable damage to general consumption/critique of media

Folks complain about rising illiteracy on social media, but I think the deeper issue isn't inability to parse straightforward sentences but a cultivated unwillingness to model different viewpoints and social contexts. Performative dunking rewards *not bothering to understand* the enemy.

Replying to @avaminsky.bsky.social

not exactly a hot take to point out supposed 'progressives' will often shamelessly embrace rightwing talking points if it lets them dunk on ai (atheists talking about art requiring a soul to create, being happily ableist to disabled people saying ai helps them create etc) but it's still wild to see.

i know that's just what linus said but i need every programmer right now to stop using compilers and languages altogether and just learn assembly or else you're fake and slop /s

"AI isolates people" is a funny way to say "I isolate people who use AI" but, y'know, I do in fact have memory of how people treated me for sticking to my guns in 2022. ChatGPT didn't even exist yet and bitches were still isolating me. People did that because of their moralism, not AI
