Very unimportant person with very unimportant views.
Am I being serious? Am I joking? Have I completely misread the room? Welcome to Autism Roulette
Views my own, name is someone else’s.
Listening to a report about Google chopping down a quarter of a million trees in Finland to build a data centre while washing out yoghurt pots for the recycling
The real unfair competition women are being forced into with men is having women's sports constantly separated off as a distinct event which is made to compete commercially with much better funded and socially and institutionally enfranchised men's sporting events & found inadequate by that standard
Just general health practices like banning smoking in public places.
I don’t think people appreciate the impact of Roy Castle’s death. A children’s TV presenter dying of lung cancer in his 60’s with never having smoked a cigarette. That was devastating as a child.
You have to laugh at the sheer insanity of Turning Point UK being found to be organising literal contract killings and paid agitation at protests up and down the country and it barely even raises a flicker across the press. If that isn't 'terrorism' on some level I don't really know what is
I think the lasting appeal of Final Fantasy is that it did pretentious right. At their core they’re YA novels told with the conviction that it’s art and that it’s story is important. And boy does it hit more than it misses.
FFVIII was one of the first that made me see how awesome stories could be in games & started my love for RPGs.
I remember playing the demo on one of the PS1 demo disks back in the day and wanted it so bad. It was my first FF & the first game I ever beat by myself.
The opening will forever be ICONIC!
There’s always something insidious about this type of political thinking. It presents inaction as a virtue and questioning as a sin. It’s a scolding technique along the lines of “If you like pancakes you must hate waffles”. It’s BlueSky as a political argument.
It’s a perverse argument. A party can specifically campaign against you, can enact policies against you. And when you say you won’t vote for them because of that, they won’t change the policies or the rhetoric, they’ll blame you for the loss.
You can tell everyone’s used up their free AppleTV offers when this is the first I’ve heard about the new series of Slow Horses and it’s taking about the finale
At this point it looks like Xbox are 180’ing on everything Spencer did back to the things that caused Spencer to do what he did.
A La Carte is literally the previous GamePass, GamePass for PC, Xbox Live Gold and GamePass Ultimate Model.
'the price of the [Xbox] Helix console has internally been projected to cost consumers between $1,200 and $1,800, unless Microsoft decides to subsidize the cost'

tried taking one of those political questions tests but i disagreed with the framing of nearly all the questions. not sure what that makes me. annoying probably
Ali G and SBC is fascinating in a way. You were watching in realtime a joke lose it’s self awareness because it became popular and then its creator loses that same self awareness.
Ali G was a self-aware minstrel, the joke was the interviewees were unaware. It was a prank like Mr Blobby.
Bracing for the enormous recalculation of national wealth that’s going to come when the ONS decide to include the value of all the carrier bags under your stairs and the Gü ramekins at the back of the kitchen cupboard.
Great article but it also speaks to a wider issue. Hyper Acusis is not an officially recognised diagnosis, neither is SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder) which are so common for autistics, NAS built a simulator around it. No push to investigate it but they can write 600 pages to deny us diagnoses?
What no-one will write about Burnham's "headphone dodgers" plan is that it's partly a neurodiversity issue. I wrote this open.substack.com/pub/maybeima...
That Mike Tyson documentary on Netflix is one of the best documentaries Netflix has done. There’s some attempts at rehabilitation but for the most part Tyson is completely unapologetic and the other interviewees bring needed context and balance. It’s a fascinating watch.
Some more thoughts on Russel Howard's tour that bugged me. There's probably a snappier term, but its Performative Discourse Centrism. Nuance and context go out the window as all discourse must be portrayed as extreme to make the individual look like a sensible moderate.
This tour Russell Howard was saying how autistics must find "neurospicy" as offensive as Gregg Wallace blaming his transgression on being autistic. Neurospicy is an autistic joke about the Mild Autism label. If there's a mild autism, that implies there's other spice levels of autism.
Whether you find it funny or not, an autistic calling themselves neurospicy is on the same level as Russell Howard making fun of his lazy eye but because of Performative Discourse Centrism, neurospicy cannot be an in joke, it must be an extreme position that is on par with sexual harassment.

Last tour Russell Howard was talking about how its important to laugh at ourselves and included a bit about a person who complaining to Russell Howard because he makes jokes about his lazy eye and this person also had a lazy eye, and that they couldn't see eye to eye on the situation (I laughed)
If I climb up a cliff and jump off with a parachute am I also flying?
It’s a weird thing the tech being used here you can get in toys. None of this is really an ngineering marvel, it’s a financial one. Musk can afford to show off impractical tech, whereas his competitors have to make practical tech
Saw Russel Howard doing stand up tonight. Still very funny but not as good as his last tour. Even though his tour is called Escaping The Algorithm he’s too far caught up in it and there was too many jokes/rants about things that played out on X, which heavily skewed American.
There was a whole segment dedicated to how Russel thought the calling Sydney Sweeny a facist over the genes/jeans advert was stupid. Regardless of opinions on the topic, this was a gig in South Wales. The dead air implied nobody knew or cared who Sydney Sweeny was.
It might be a blip or it might be a downward trend but it was enough to overtake the 80% of the show we loved, and make my wife and I talk about what other comedians we wanted to watch, as opposed to looking forward to his next tour.
breaking my break from BlueSky just to say, the last episode of The Nest (iPlayer) is so fucking bad it ruins the entire show. First 4 episodes are a decent drama, last episode scraps that, turns every character into an avatar for a political message then destroys all prior characterisation and plot
Bit late to the party, but damn Colin From Accounts is so good. Easily one of the best shows I’ve seen.
Nothing felt forced or contrived. Brutally honest but with empathy and hope. The last five minutes was just perfect.
I feel sorry for all of the people that put their faith in the Green Party. The motion targets anyone that is Jewish, and that's despicable. It also tars everything else and everyone else that's associated with the party.
It was monumentally stupid and completely avoidable
anyways, i propose that we ban everyone from saying other users should enjoy concentration camps. i think this would be a positive move towards a safer website.
11yr old is doing a rugby training session because their opponents didn’t have enough players. Forfeiting is fine but bring the kids anyway and we’ll do a friendly with mixed teams
It’s got to be dispiriting, the kids do the training, the adults have bought the gear and they get nothing for it.
Seeing it pop up in the timeline today so it’s time for some BlueSky pedantry. Asylum applications don’t prevent you from working in the UK.
An asylum application extends your existing visa while your application is being assessed. If your visa allowed work, you can continue to work.
