October 26, 2:50 pm—City crews are currently responding to a water main break in the area of 1375 Summit Drive. Crews are on site investigating and working to restore service as quickly as possible. We will provide updates as work progresses. #Kamloops

The problem with this is that current crews follow American standards, trained in American thoughts, drive huge (grossly over-priced) American trucks. Let's start looking towards progressive EU practices and cost-effective equipment BEFORE designing cities after the sprawl of USA #Kamloops #BCPoli

Instead of begging Greens to vote Orange… Eby should’ve begged, no implored EVERYONE to get out and simply VOTE. 🫤 #bcpoli

Fewer people voted for BC Conservatives this year than in 2024. NDP 2024: 944,463 2026: 669,257 CON: 2024: 911,142 2026: 860,565 NDP appealed to right-wing voters they didn't get. Their base felt ignored and decided to not vote? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2026_Br... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_Br...

I'm really surprised with the wide support for closer relationships with the EU, that we haven't seen more people trying to point out how the European electoral systems would benefit voters here. We can't just call it "PR" and expect people to understand the connection. #BCPoli

There is a high % of undecided voters, and polling is NOT reliable like it used to be (still useful, but much less so). Where and when will you vote today? Which of your friends will you text to remind them to vote? [And remember, Eby is toast - someone else is going to be NDP leader]. #bcpoli

Eric Doherty@ericdoherty.bsky.social

An NDP minority needing Green support is still possible. (If that happens, Eby will resign). And a slim Maple MAGA majority is better than a big Maple MAGA majority. #Vote! #bcpoli

Yes, she is still running for the BC Conservatives. Hateful politics is not good for anyone. Conservative Candidate Heather Maahs, implied that having books depicting same sex relationships was equivalent to grooming minors in schools. #bcpoli #bcelection

I guess at this point, a vote for BC Conservatives is a vote for Trump. They have been meeting with Trump's people behind closed doors. They could actually end up destroying Canada for Trump, if they get their way. They will destroy BC to "get even" just like Trump. Carbon copies. #bcpoli

One more municipal election observation in Kamloops. In 2022 Mayor RHJ had fewer votes than every council person elected, but tried to govern as if he were king. In 2026 Mayor MO has more votes than every council person elected. I don't think he'll attempt the king route...

During this election, the BC Conservatives have shown they don't have a plan for BC. Even during the campaign, they are hiding from the media. The Conservatives are not ready to lead. #bcpoli #bcelection

TODAY’S THE DAY, KAMLOOPS! Four years ago you stayed home and let a buffoon get elected by his tinfoil hat friends, insulting our town and institutions and derailing our future, don’t eff this up again. Go vote. Now. NOW! Go.

Doerkson cannot run for party leadership without a change to the constitution of the BC Conservative Party. This party never voted for him, and now they're asking us to... If the Conservatives form Government, their party will get to choose our Premier, not us. Vote Strategically. #bcpoli

BC has lead the way in Investment Growth under the BC NDP #BCPoli

Despite those strong wages (or perhaps because of them??), business capital investment in BC was strong. Real investment (after inflation) in non-residential structures & machinery grew 4.5%/yr from 2017 thru 2024 (latest data), fastest among the provinces and 3x the Cdn avg. /5

BC's leader debate made it clear: the Conservative Party is not ready to govern. They do not have a plan for BC, they do not have a permanent leader, and Doerkson does not have control of this party. Can we trust the BC Conservatives to remain unified in the legislature? #bcpoli #bcdebate

Last night, Lorne Doerkson used the same old Conservative talking points we have seen for years. Tax cuts and trickle-down economics 🥱. We know what that actually means: cuts to social services and wealth consolidation. #bcpoli #bcdebate

Since 2017, average hourly wages have outpaced inflation in BC, generating an average annual increase in the real wage of 1.5% per year (almost two-thirds faster than the Canadian average). The real purchasing power of wages grew 13% in that time. (It *fell* 3% in Alberta). /4

If you're a Canadian worker, there's no better place than BC to do an hour's labour for an hour's pay. Since 2024 BC has boasted the highest hourly wage of any province (incl. imputed hourly pay for salaried staff). BC passed SK in 2019, Ont in 2023, and Alta in 2024. #bcpoli /2

My big take away from tonight’s BC Election debate: If Doerkson was premier a) he’d likely be displaced by someone else in his caucus by Easter, and b) we’d be dealing with a Danielle Smith-grade referendum on DRIPA and “foreigners”. #bcpoli @davidebybc.bsky.social

Discussion is now on BC Cons disfunction and bigotry. In 2026, we should not be discussing why a party filled with bigots should earn the right to govern. Give your heads a shake, fellow British Columbians. #BCDebate #BCelxn #bcpoli #cdnpoli

Lowan won the debate. She talked policy. So refreshing. Eby held his own. BC is better off compared to the BC Liberals. Doerkson scored some points on jobs and safety that will resonate in the BC interior. But doubled down on defending his bigot candidates. #BCDebate #BCelxn #bcpoli #cdnpoli

There is a majority of the BC Con party that really wanted the nutjob ideas that KLF was pushing - those members continue to control the leadership of the BC Conservatives. The EXACT same way that the membership of the UCP forced the separation issue on Albertans. #BCPoli

Turnout in the 2022 Kamloops municipal election was a dismal 29% and every councilor got more votes than the mayor. www.kamloops.ca/sites/defaul... Please vote, your local government has way more impact on your day to day life. Your vote really does count.
