“This team is a joke. Just top to bottom, just straight up this club, this organization is an absolute joke.” @tombogert.bsky.social sounds off on CF Montréal as they look set to finish last in the Eastern Conference. 😬😳

Wab Kinew calls on Ottawa to abolish Indian Act: "I'm not sure if that lines up with your vision of Canada, that we still have a race-based form of identification in this country. It's long overdue that we have a relationship with Indigenous peoples that reflects who we are as Canadians today."

I think this has to be said, but vote splitting had nothing to do with yesterday’s results. Votes sitting at home for the #BCNDP was the problem. The #BCCons won a massive majority on less votes. #bcpoli

Asked today about what he’s going to do to keep the Whitecaps in town, premier designate Lorne Doerkson calmly replies he’s going to talk to the Caps but also admits he really doesn’t know enough about the situation. ‘Trust me when I say this: British Columbia loves the Whitecaps.’ So we’ll see.

48% Turnout answers the questions of what happened last night. Potential #BCNDP voters stayed home in droves.

Lindsay Brown@lidsville.bsky.social

Voter turnout was low (est. 48%, ~ 10% drop?). The Cons obviously did extremely well. Greens are up from their low in 2024, but at 11% are still within historical norms (8-15%). What changed? I doubt all those NDP votes switched to Con. I'm guessing low turnout = NDP voters staying home. #bcpoli

This one will probably need to be deleted in 15 minutes… “classier”

Given that tomorrow is e-day, I expect a handful of #bcpoli polls today. If the #BCNDP are withing 2-3 pts of the #BCCons they may have a shot. If not they're going to be a tonne of trouble going into tomorrow.

Almost 72 hours after the vote, where are we? 1. The counting continues - brutal but true. Elections Alberta counted fast over night on the 19/20, but then seemed to slow right down. Almost like they thought they would be done after 12 hours. 2. "No" did great.

Happy for Forge and happy my gut feeling came through. That being said, with #vwfc current form (last three games) they would have probably taken care of Forge FC last night.

Connor Turner@ctoverdrive.bsky.social

I secretly didn’t want #VWFC in the #CanChamp final as it really felt like a CPL team would have a great chance to pull an upset. Four in a row is quite a feat, but they felt due for a stumble.

1-0 Forge in #CanChamp final. Deep in first half stoppage time. Get in! Montreal get relegated if they lose this right?

KidSport is such a great organization. This was an easy donation.

Over $2,000 in donations now for KidSport! All from fans of a slightly petty website about a Winnipeg goalie not getting paid. 😅 Hellebucks.com

There’s a big rally there tonight that they are really pushing. I feel like they are hoping they can win the Island, Vancouver/Burnaby/NW/PC and surrey to hold the fort. #bcndp (Also holding a campaign rally when you are behind in the polls like this is a waste if resources. #goknockdoors)

If Eby had given the conservatives a couple of weeks post KLF stepping down this would have been a solid reasoning, but he didn’t wait and it looks opportunistic. #bcpoli

I've chatted with a few NDP MLAs and staffers on this, and they were truly and honestly stressed about how often they had late night procedural wrangling and votes where the government could have been defeated The problem is, I'm not sure anyone outside of NDP family members cares in the slightest

My daughter absolutely loves the “Cloudy with Meatballs” franchise, but she calls it “Raining Boogers (Burgers)” and I can’t handle this level of cuteness.

While I’m not shocked that Muse has significant coding issues, I’m more shocked that people were willing to share vital information that something that was only live for two weeks. Like these people should know better.

Premier Smith was deliberately cautious when speaking about the outcomes of Questions 6-9. And rightly so. With roughly 500k mail in ballots yet to be counted for each, and with those swinging hard No on other Q’s, I expect these Qs to fail.

Blake Shaffer 🇨🇦@blakeshaffer.bsky.social

New approach. Here i take the # of votes remaining by each voting method (elxn day, advanced, mail-in, mobile) and used their % Yes share from votes cast to get a projected outcome. Because so many mail-in ballots are remaining and their %Yes is low, this flips Q6-9 to No and tightens Q1-5.

Interesting comment by Janet Brown (pollster goddess) on CBC this morning: Only 40% voted for 1-9. Her initial analysis is that people took the “No to the nine” as “say no to voting for the nine” 😮

Elections Alberts just confiirmed that they don't know if all of their polls are closed so that's why we don't have results. Given our top resource, it's wild how poorly an oiled machine we are.

Why are we giving these idiots any daylight.

Angus Reid showing tighter race is probably good news for the #BCNDP, but they are going to need a massive GOTV. I will say they have been blitzing radio, podcasts, and stingray this past week. “As of today, the #BCCons (46 per cent) hold a three-point lead over the BC NDP (43 per cent).” #BCpoli
