it's very funny that overly performative linguistic engineering was one of the biggest knocks on Woke 1, only for Trump to absolutely fall in love with it, from the Gulf of America to Super Intelligence

Champion. MVP. President. Our union sister @nnekaogwumike.bsky.social’s impact on WNBA players on AND off the court will be felt for generations to come. As WNBPA President, she fought for everything players deserve - and won. Thank you for your solidarity. Congrats on your retirement! ✊

There are too many people in congress who would be happier doing this, and that's part of why our politics is so stupid bsky.app/profile/avit...

So Nancy Mace is now hosting a podcast called 'Get Maced' in a leather catsuit. And no you did not hallucinate that sentence.

WTF does she consider ”work” in this context?

Meredith Shiner@meredithshiner.com

I had not seen this clip where Tammy Duckworth advises Democrats to "not impeach anybody," "get back to work" and "allow" Donald Trump to "save face" and I would just like to remind the senator from IL that the federal government took 4,000 Chicagoans and murdered a 38-year-old father last fall.

There's no evidence that we can neutralize MAHA with a better health care system. Western Europe has universal access and lower costs — and still has huge anti-vaxx and “medical freedom” movements. MAHA is driven by right-wing misinformation, not legitimate grievances with US healthcare.

My view on driverless cars, AI + harmful algorithms is if the tech billionaires wanted me to trust them on this, maybe they shouldn't have adopted "move fast and break things" as their motto!

I often think about how America embraced mass suburbanization right at the moment when technologies like indoor plumbing, modern HVAC, antibiotics, and fireproof steel and concrete construction finally made urban life decent and tolerable.

A HISTORIC NIGHT FROM ANGEL REESE🚨 Not only did she set a new WNBA single-game rebounding record with 26 boards, she also tallied 458 rebounds this szn, a new single-season record! #WNBASeason30

a large part of being a conservative is pretending they are “pretending” to be a prick to prove a point when they really just want to be a prick because they are pricks at heart and thats who they are

“Orange man bad” is the most consistently correct take in U.S. politics for the past decade. The people who disagreed that Trump is a fascist profoundly misunderstood politics and should have much, much more humility going forward.

Peter@notalawyer.bsky.social

This line from Ross Douthat’s final NYT column is something you see all the time from the soft-MAGA right. Sure, Trump’s *most* alarmist critics weren’t correct, but that’s basically true of every president. Trump’s *median* critic did in fact predict his presidency pretty accurately.

@pablo.show get on it!! Another Pulitzer is yours for the taking.

Folarin Balogun is eligible to play on Monday night in Seattle. A win would send the U.S. to the quarterfinals, which would be the best U.S. result at a men's World Cup since 2002. https://to.pbs.org/3QIFYxA

This is slightly corny but I think it's true - the thing about DSA candidates that *actually* freaks out the ancien regime dems is that they are young, energetic, and clearly very motivated to do specific things

The original website announcing several days of concerts as part of Trump’s Great American State Fair has been completely removed. Now, he’s teasing an appearance from his personal playlist that would have “none of those people that put you to sleep and constantly complain!” trib.al/a2eKKg1

There's a far better case for banning social media for people 65+ than for people 16-18

Jonn Elledge@jonnelledge.bsky.social

The Children's Commissioner wants the social media ban extended to 18. Even though people will be able to vote at 16. The Beatles first went to Hamburg when George Harrison was 17. You can also decide to take on £50k of tuition fee debt at 17.

Ken Paxton is the most dangerous man in American politics, because he is both patient and sadistic. John Roberts is patient but twists himself into a legal pretzel every time he writes an opinion. Trump and Stephen Miller are cruel but impulsive. Paxton has something I've not seen since LBJ
