Much easier for the media to lock in on faux Cheesecake Factory outrage than a House Dem report indicating Todd Blanche basically told Ghislaine Maxwell "stop talking" when she was about to discuss a girl that could more closely tie Trump to Epstein

Melissa reposted

Katie Johnson, 13, reported Epstein and Trump argued over who would take her virginity, and Epstein became angry and violently raped her when he learned that Donald Trump had done so. As shown by official FBI interview notes, Johnson, through her attorney, reported these alleged crimes to the FBI.

So much about the essay encapsulates what's wrong with our time: emotion over knowledge, a refusal to do the work, a dismissal of expertise. A nation of armchair quarterbacks, yelling about how they would have thrown the pass. Everything should be simple, so if someone didn't fix it they are evil.

“Shadow docket” is the sort of name you’d come up with if you were writing an authoritarian dystopia.

Riki Wilchins@rikiwilchins.bsky.social

For the 1st time in US history SCOTUS has more rulings on its shadow docket -- unsigned and with no opinions -- than it has cases where it has heard oral arguments and issued signed rulings. IOW they are hiding their deliberations while stealing our democracy. www.propublica.org/article/supr...

Bears repeating: the house philosopher for half of Silicon Valley and JD Vance is a racist who hates democracy

This week’s main story is about how more and more white nationalists, antisemites, and Nazi sympathizers seem to be integrating into the Republican Party, how some of them are currently running for office, and how old you can be for JD Vance to consider you “a very young boy.”

I had some thoughts on Katie Zacharia's brief tenure as press secretary, and the role of Fox News in pushing her off the stage.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

"Fox News hosts are professional propagandists. I think they looked at Zacharia as someone who was not capable of covering for Donald Trump when he gets in trouble, someone who wouldn’t be able to lash out at the media for daring to cover him, and they helped her off stage because of that."
