The idea that anyone would be stupid enough to become reliant on services that are GUARENTEED to be enshittified to the point where you're paying OpenAI/Anthropic like it's 2002 and you have 45 nights & weekends minutes per month is utterly beyond comprehension to me.

These companies are the most money-losing endeavours in ALL HUMAN HISTORY. It is impossible for them to keep losing this much money forever. You think they're going to give a shit when some smooth-brained vibe coder racks up a $17,000 token bill in a month? THAT'S THEIR WHOLE FUCKING PLAN.

Genuinely, even if one could somehow see past the rapacious environmental damage, rampant IP theft, these services LITERALLY coaching children on how to commit school shootings and countless other moral failings - each large enough to blot out the sun - it's still a shit product

Yupppp, it's real bad! And why claims of multiplied productivity are profoundly unreliable- the gambler always says he's on a hot streak too. (on top of self-reporting being the least accurate form of actual evidence in generally, across basically every domain) www.fast.ai/posts/2026-0...

I'm sure it's good that over the past several days I have seen multiple vibecoding people say their individual versions of "yeah this is like playing a slot machine for me and I find it hard to stop and I love that actually"

You can vote TODAY at any of 59 voting locations across Vancouver. Polls are open until 8 pm. We need a high voter turnout to defeat Ken Sim and ABC. If you've already voted, tell a friend - and sign up to volunteer with COPE to get the vote out. We got this. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

I have become a complete Vivaldi sicko after switching earlier this year and you should too! Desktop and mobile are both excellent.

Vivaldi Browser@vivaldi.com

Hello there, may I interest you in switching to a European web browser that has: ❌ Zero AI slop. ❌ Zero tracking. ❌ Zero external investors. 🤩 Endless ways to customize your setup. 🤩 Tons of powerful features. Oh, and it's an employee-owned alternative to the Big Tech giants. Welcome over!

Let me get this straight, a company and CEO whose entire fortune is based on ignoring consent and sharing private information publicly has made yet another product that does so? Color me shocked!

AppleInsider@appleinsider.com

In a completely unsurprising turn of events, Meta's Muse AI is stealing Apple Messages, past and present, and uploading the contents to its cloud, even if explicitly told not to.

Every single person who reads this should be incandescent with rage. Sam Altman shouldn't know one single day of peace for the rest of his entirely fucking life.

Paris Marx@parismarx.com

Just when I think I can’t hate OpenAI and Sam Altman any more, new details come out about how ChatGPT helped a shooter plan one of the worst mass shootings in Canadian history in Tumbler Ridge, BC. OpenAI made an explicit decision not to report the user to authorities.

There's a much clearer, succinct and honest way for any media outlets to report on this- "OpenAI created malware that illegally access Australian government health data." Creating malware through incompetence rather than intent does not make it any less malware.

KetAnthropic JoshAI@ketanjoshi.co

It is a huge shame to see so much language attributing agency, intent and thought to a software program, when all that should be attributed to the humans who designed a dangerously clumsy and broken looping LLM. Means the companies won't be held accountable for designing a bad product

Every time some studio head says something that makes you think, "Wow, they sound like an asshole" it's never just that. There's always an even more terrible second act, e.g. boasting they "Finally made this out of a meeting room... where we all watch porn together."

Robin-Yann Storm@rystorm.com

Miro just got acquired, I wonder what the new company will do. "often increasing revenue and lowering expenses (including by reducing headcount). The company employs full-stack developers to rewrite acquired codebases using artificial intelligence" Ah ...ah.
