a programming teacher of mine once said the reason adults are harder to teach than kids is because adults want it to be perfect, the way they've seen it before, in their heads, and kids don't really know or care, they just wanna try you learn by doing, a lot of adults are afraid of doing

The mistake I’ve made a lot as a visual artist is wanting the sketch to be as perfect as the final piece. It was a pretty debilitating hang up until I realized it’s necessary to have a project evolve rather than having a fully baked piece from the start. That friction also makes it a lot more fun.

I don't have an FT subscription so I couldn't read the whole article. But the excerpts screenshotted here are so enraging. The AI bros are constitutionally unable to avoid missing the point of life.

This story makes it sound like the major problem is that the Trump Admin did this w/in 60 days of an election. Yes, that's a real abuse. But the major problem is they're basically threatening to denaturalize an opposition legislator, based on racist insinuations. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/12/u...

We need to rephrase the whole discussion in terms of hazardous products, instead of "minds". And then we need to make sure that there's liability. A model hacks someone? Put a C-suite guy in jail. A model produces sexual harassment material? Put a C-suite guy in jail. Watch how fast things get safe
