10 days until Election Day! This is when the political mail gets WILD. Make sure to submit your mail to paidforby.info: 1. Instantly find out who is really paying for the mailer — and their donors (federal elections only) 2. Get your mailer reviewed by an independent journalist (all elections)

while you port and emulate games, I ported Jira to my PSP

Don't forget to un/redeploy any CodePen projects that might have caught CVE hands from DeepSeek et al. Replit sent out an inventory of my projects that needed attention, but I've not seen anything similar from CodePen

I'm watching the WNBA Finals and there was an ad just now for an Xfinity service that uses your home WiFi to detect where people are in your home as a "security" feature. Lordy, this is getting bleak. We all know what the real product is here.

This is Pele, my new rendering library for diagrams and charts, compatible with the latest Mermaid syntax. - 100-500× faster than mermaid.js - 6× smaller bundle - No dependencies - Easy to theme - Responsive to device width - Open source (MIT) Try it at pele.run

Pay attention to the “test user” term. They want permission to sign into your auth spaces and crawl using user-level accounts. On the one hand, indexing Discord and millions of paywalled/app spaces would be an incredible turn for the open web but do not trust that zuck

you can't be serious. This reads Meta/Facebook/Insta is looking to grant itself the rights to scrape websites across the open web - and train Meta's AI - if a company after Oct 30, 2026 uses Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp or other Meta services. So every biz. Read that again. Outrageous. 1/5

…well, in the meantime I threw the file at Claude Opus 5.5 and it repaired it and sent it back, my memory of the "35" value was enough for it to work with an undocumented format. It opens now. Good thing it wasn't encrypted? But the shape of the bug was that it crashed while I was typing a ratio

And now the best part: Bot traffic from the #Yandex network has plunged to near zero following the strike on its Vladimir data center. Bot traffic includes automated requests from search crawlers, scrapers and other online services. Twitter must be a ghost town by now.

All three Yandex AI supercomputers are reportedly offline: Galushkin in Vladimir, Chervonenkis and Lyapunov in Sasovo, whose data center shut down after the Oct 8 strike. Yandex Cloud outages also threaten thousands of Russian firms relying on it for websites, databases and payments 👏

How do you show a whole digitized book in one thumbnail? Modern books have illustrated covers, but in research collections the cover is often a plain library binding. So I made Flipbook: hover over a book from any #IIIF source and flip through its pages. hadro.github.io/flipbook/ #GLAMsky 📚📜

We have the technology to bring this back. Queue John Williams theme BA NAA NAAA NA BANNA NAA NAA NAAA BANANA BA NA n 🎵

As anyone whose favorite banana went extinct can tell you, homogeneity *works* well, but diversity *fails* well: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gros_Mi... The brittleness of algorithm-induced homogeneity is compounded by the fact that recommenders obscure the *true* preferences of people. 66/

Subskeet but these idiots touting AI agents interacting with you from channels like email and Slack have no concept of security nor experienced where a company-wide reply all with JIRA looped in takes down an entire network for 4 hours

Spotify just did that thing again where I was ready to pack up and leave and then it randomly connected me with a band that I'm kind of digging, goddamnit That's the pin I need to pull, first. Good music recommendations. Who do I need to follow?

particularly not sure I'm committing to wildly unique glyphs at the 4 symmetrical instances but it helps to try them all on. There are pros & cons to using varieties and not

I blame Google and Facebook for this at the end of the day but yeah Gannett can eat shit the incremental lift on this stuff is always few percent but these newsroom product managers never account for the sheer descruction these same decisions have on their reputation value in the math

Earlier this week, I agreed to interviews with two USA Today journalists. They wrote fantastic articles about the Cornell case that I'm proud to have been a part of. What I did not know is that their employer considers interviews to proprietary and opens up recordings to be used by any journalist.

after months of being stumped on a problem, I had it draw up a full study of the combined glyph space, and hilariously it got stuck on the same pair that I did. But then I had it make me a tool that was basically Illustrator scoped to a single problem and I cracked it by hand with rapid noodling

Proud to present my lifesize T. rex head, affectionately named Hannibal. I created this myself from start to finish- digital sculpture, resin 3D printing, painting, etc. Huge thanks to my friend @rj-palmer.com for instrumental crits and redlines during the sculpting process.

the SPEED at which I wishlisted this game is something

Cat Secretary by @goodstoryguild.co is a silly game about replacing AI with a cat - who is you - in an office setting! It's just a quirky, silly game I played at #gamescom and wrote up for @indiegamesplus.com: #indiegame #videogame indiegamesplus.com/cat-secretar...

The White House accord on AI that was signed by all the big tech oligarchs today misspells United States as “Unites States.”
