For those lecturing the trans community on how Paxton is worse than Talarico, that's not the point. We can mostly all agree on that. The point is he ran his primary saying he supports the trans community and he's backing away from that now.

Trump: "Ramaswamy put up a very powerful Ad about a mother saying that her daughter, Acton, is a liar, and much worse. The Press is trying to get him to 'take down the Ad.' Frankly, anybody whose mother spoke about daughter that way would normally lead to the daughter being precluded from serving"

THEY ARE NOT POWERLESS TO STOP HIM! Go back to Washington, stand on the steps of the Capitol and demand Johnson and Thune recall the House and Senate, and impeach him. THIS IS HOW IT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK! THERE IS LITERALLY AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL! (It's called the Constitution.)

Republican lawmakers are incensed about Trump's dismissal of Ukraine — and powerless to stop him. That frustration hit a new peak on Monday as they sought to address Trump’s decision to purchase Russian diesel, waive sanctions on Moscow, and potentially stop sharing intelligence with Ukraine.

Huh. Apparently Katie Miller deleted this tweet that I had the foresight to screencap. Turns out I can TOO make things go viral on Xitter, even.

This is a crazy attempt at reframing the argument. I don't think most people would buy this, but we know some will.

just catching up on JD Vance telling Hannity that Jeffrey Epstein is actually "a great character reference" for Donald Trump 😳

BREAKING: DOJ asks SCOTUS to erase trans people from the law in case over trans care in prison. Solicitor General John Sauer made the alarming, all-encompassing argument — previously covered at Law Dork — to the Supreme Court on Monday morning. Today, at Law Dork:

There are plenty of "natural" plants that can kill people. Something being natural doesn't mean it's healthy.

Improving mood and increasing longevity are just some of the unfounded claims about this substance circling around the “natural” medicine corners of the internet. www.wired.com/story/nicoti...

Women were major supporters of the abolition movement. Many of the abolition leaders promised the women they would help them gain rights after, if they helped. No surprise, many of those same abolition leaders turned their backs on women after.

They said "not now" and cautioned women to wait. Eventually their turn would come. In the end, women had to fight hard to gain their rights. Many of the people that promised to help them didn't.

Now we have people telling the trans community "not now" and just wait. Don't worry about leaders who trade your rights votes. Just be patient and eventually we'll support you. Is anyone surprised that much of the trans community don't trust these promises?

We had thought the “safety issues” at the Kennedy Center were caused by the Trump administration. It appears that might be the case. In a sworn declaration filed today, a legal observer said she witnessed a forklift carrying fencing drive to the north

Ask yourself, would you be okay if he suddenly walked back his stances on I.C.E or women's bodily autonomy. Can you trust a politician who turns his back on one group when he sees it as politically expedient?

These are people's rights that he is willing to trade for votes and you can't expect them not to be angry or to want to hold him accountable. So, yes he's better than Paxton but that isn't the point. Would you stand behind someone who waters down your rights?

We can't compromise on basic rights for any group. The trans community needs all of us to stand with them and say we won't stand for them losing rights.

I always think of my first students today. I was in front of one of my classes when the vice principal came in and showed me a note about the towers. It went on to say not to tell the students and keep teaching. I'd only been teaching a few weeks and honestly am not sure how I finished that class.

I've heard people try to say that we all came together after the attack but that isn't really true. The anti-Muslim, or just middle Eastern, sentiment was horrible. I had students at my school afraid to leave their homes because they were Muslim.

I think we forget that, in the simplest terms, hate and anger led to 9/11, but many have perpetuated hate since then. (Yes, I know I'm simplifying 9/11 causes as it would take a dissertation to explain the underlying and historical causes.)

I keep hoping that things can't get dumber and then he posts/ says something else...
