This is how I know those folks have never had in real life beef. Because the idea of doing this, without ever considering that it might result in getting run up on, is outside my realm of comprehension.

Listen. Bring up my mom during a political campaign and I’ma make Osama Bin Laden look like Mister Rogers.

Nobody who had a crush on Ashley Banks from the first time we saw her has had a moment's regret in 35 years.

I’m sorry this is insane!!!!

I know Notre Dame won't do it but making BYU an annual rivalry game would be great for college football.

Tommy very much regrets asking the question.

Abdul El-Sayed@abdulelsayed.bsky.social

This is Tommy. Tommy had a question about my allegiances. Listen to the end to hear about his.

I just heard KRS-One being played at a game between Baylor and TCU. This is how I learn it's possible for me to still be surprised.

Full update from our team. We STILL do not have admin access to the account.

Update: without explanation, and after being suspended for more than an hour during peak mobilization time, Zuckerberg's Instagram restored the No Kings account but we still lack admin access. More to come. Rest assured we will not stop organizing against this regime and its collaborators.

My teenage children, who have never set foot in NYC, go around saying "Help me, Mamdani!" whenever anything goes wrong and/or they can't figure out their homework, just to give everybody a sense of the scale of this man's presence in the culture lol

In more important news, my Northwestern Wildcats beat Michigan State and whoever is coaching them now.

I can't tell how much of Texas' offensive issues are because of Arch Manning vs Sarkisian's playcalling.

None of my degrees came from schools that anyone would consider left of center. And yet. People who make these kinds of arguments really insult the ability of young people to think for themselves.

EDJ edit page continues its reality-defying streak decade after decade:

Trump supporters get angry when they're told "I hope you get what you voted for" and that really gives away the game.

People have a really hard time with this but it does need to be talked about. When we let capitalists control the production of technology, the value/"free time" created is always, always going to be stolen back by the system.

It's bizarre to me how many people in the comments here seem to think that automation is going to translate into more freedom for the working class. When has that ever panned out? How much leisure time do you have, after years of these "innovations"? We are Charlie Brown trying to kick the football

Email did to white collar work what the washing machine did to housework: creating as many problems as it solved. See, as Ruth Schwartz Cowan shows in More Work for Mother, washing machines made washing clothes much easier, but in the process, it also shifted cultural norms...

My PhD taught me research. I wish it had taught me how to answer ten emails without needing the rest of the day off.

🎶WHAT WILL PEOPLE THINK WHEN THEY HEAR THAT I'M A TALAFREAK WHAT WILL PEOPLE DO WHEN THEY FIND THAT IT'S TRUE🎶

Ben Collins@bencollins.bsky.social

Goddamn they would be fucking launching an endless stream of TALAFREAKO merch out of a tee shirt cannon every day for the next three weeks if I was even within earshot of his campaign manager for ten seconds. What a gift to be given that sick-ass nickname by the worst guy alive.

Of all states, Minnesota being the one that might buck the trend is completely perplexing. This article also seems to suggest that some Minnesotans aren't happy with Tim Walz? When and how did that happen?

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

As polling shows Democrats leading in red territories, blue Minnesota has been an unexpected spot of optimism for the GOP. Here are takeaways from the only scheduled debate between Minnesota Senate candidates Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan and Michele Tafoya:

This is not beautiful to see. This is the most racist democracy on planet earth, and people just expect Black people to sing negro spirituals and "overcome." It's not working. This still happens for one reason and one reason only: white US folk don't hold each other accountable for this racism.

I always have mixed feelings about these images. Yes, it's inspiring to see these college students committed to democracy, but the fact that they have to do anything remotely difficult to exercise their voting rights is enraging. Taking part in a democracy should be as easy as possible.

Petition to replace the word “donor” with something else for people who funnel *millions*—not to mention $250 million—into campaigns. That’s not a donor—that’s a buyer.

We did it, Joe.

Breaking news: Katie Zacharia, the new White House press secretary, is out of her role just five days into the job, according to a person familiar with the situation. Moments before, President Trump said publicly that she should think about leaving. https://wapo.st/3TWBQM0

it's weird how cagey the write-ups so far have been about who shot the shooter

A little while ago I wrote something in a sports forum and someone accused me of using AI. This wasn't anything important so it wasn't a big deal. But I was still annoyed by the accusation. I can only imagine how infuriating it is to have it happen with something you've labored on for years.

So now if you're any kind of writer at all, you're gonna wanna pay Pangram to run your stuff through -- even if you've never opened ChatGPT in your life -- just to be sure no one is going to try and ruin your reputation if they see some positive results.

And in case this never makes it into a full fledged piece: the reason isn’t simple dehumanization but the articulation of a foe, a need to see us humiliated and destroyed, because we dared, despite the violence, to shine, to insist on our right to be here, to show what this country could be.

I need someone to give me room to write about this moment in anti Muslim hate because there’s a reason Nidal Hassan is who is being killed by live firing squad. And it’s the same reason Ilhans house was raided.

When I was in grad school, multiple professors would praise me for my writing ability. During one meeting, a professor asked me how I learned to write so well. I told him that I listened to a lot of hip hop.

There’s this thing people do where they’re surprised that a rapper has read a book or knows any music theory or something else “intelligent”. Anyway, I hate it. Thank you.
