10/15. Considering my son eats some of these and occasionally brings spares home for me* I should have done better. *No, I don't.

It'll be pretty embarrassing if the dinosaurs went out with more dignity than us. They can't say they knew about the meteor for decades, knew exactly what to do about it, had all the technology and resources to stop it but didn't so five of them could own everything

You suddenly get a narrator describing your life and there’s no way to turn it off - everyone can hear it. While shopping, at work, at home, with friends - the voice narrating your every move goes on. Who do you hope is the voice of this narrator?

Trump on the Reflecting Pool: "It's very strong. You couldn't, if you had a knife — I don't want to give anybody ideas — if you had a knife, you can't even cut it. So strong, so powerful."

Trump on the reflecting pool: “We met with contractors today, will probably be forced to release and drain much of the water in order to do the necessary repairs, but will have them done as quickly as possible.” 😭

Embarrassing for NZ media that it took the @nytimes.com to visit rural Māori communities to show the hardship they are experiencing.

When the Iran war choked the Strait of Hormuz, New Zealand was particularly vulnerable because it imports all of its refined fuel. In the country's remote village of Ruatahuna, the consequences have been severe.

BREAKING: The US has dropped tax claims against Trump, with part of the settlement agreement saying the US is "forever barred and precluded" from examining or prosecuting Trump, his sons and the Trump organization's current tax issues, per AP

At work we recently had to cancel a training week at the last minute as the overseas trainer did not get a visa in time. What historically took two weeks max has taken over a month. There are real productivity impacts to these cuts.

Deeply unfair to compare Arsenal games to the NFL, which allows forward passes

Nick Ames@nickames82.bsky.social

Main takeaway from the disallowed West Ham goal is that, whatever was going on in that box, it definitely wasn't football. NFL-style tedium will be the hallmark of this season's Premier League, unfortunately, regardless of who wins it. Big challenge to correct the course.

I've just realised this means no more "Fuck knuckles cock and piss. Balls."

🧵My take here is that the coalition government has decided to abolish the BSA because it has advice that the authority's assertion that the Broadcasting Act gives it jurisdiction over online broadcasting is well-founded and would prevail in a court. www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...

This is true but ignores that gas goes up because oil goes up. Which pushes the prices of shipping and manufacturing up, increasing pressure on inflation.

Quantian@quantian.bsky.social

If you own a car of average efficiency driven a typical amount, gas has gone from the fourth biggest cost of ownership at ~$90/mo to ~$120/mo, behind accumulated depreciation (~$200/mo) and insurance premiums (~$150/mo) but leapfrogging maintenance (~$100/mo). The Iran War has cost you perhaps $40.
