It is a move more big firms such as Alphabet’s Google, Verizon and Intel have adopted as they have culled their workforces...especially as the public backlash to AI intensifies. Many tech firms have laid off staff en masse this year, including Netflix, Oracle, Meta Platforms, PayPal and Amazon.

Yet one of the most powerful, cost-effective defences we have is nature itself. Rewilding can re-establish spongy peatlands, wet woodlands and free-flowing rivers, which in turn can repair landscapes, help secure our water future and build our long-term climate resilience.

In the summer, reservoirs drain, cracked earth threatens farming and flames increasingly threaten people and nature. Just months later, the narrative flips: autumn storms inundate towns, wash away topsoil, and prompt calls for higher concrete walls, deeper dredging and emergency pumping stations.

It's not just about climate chaos. It's also about landscape chaos. The damage we do to the land's hydrology is layered on top of the damage we do to the atmosphere. Our mismanagement of land commits us to a cycle of flood and drought. We can change this, as explained here. Please read. Thanks.

It is so so so so so so unbelievably evil to manufacture an abuse-enabling product, and then intentionally chain that product to the function of a disability aid as a marketing / regulatory delay tactic. It blows my mind how evil that is. Meta is the worst

As I predicted a while ago, the media response to this is blaming the "fractious debate" and putting all responsibility on the community's tone, rather than the design choices and priorities of the corporation designing invasively, creepy products mostly used for abusive behaviours
