I've long been curious about SGI machines since hearing about them, and VCF Midwest 2026 was the first time I interacted with one.. Not only does this video feel thematically authentic, but it makes me feel like can I understand an SGI machine better. Love the video! www.youtube.com/watch?v=46wx...

I miss the simplicity and the exploration that came with the early internet. Thanks to Protoweb, you can relive some of that, and it works on retro computers. So for the stream this week we'll be exploring parts of the internet, 90s style! Starting at 8 PM CT youtube.com/live/3-Q4842...

Well this is garbage. They're leading the industry down a dark path.
NEW: Epic Games has delayed its upcoming (not yet announced) Star Wars + Marvel shooter as it pivots to complete AI game development. "No more hand-written code," a director told staff. All art "generated with full AI workflows." Full scoop: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

It appears I missed the 30th anniversary of the 3dfx Voodoo Graphics by a few days (Oct 7), but nonetheless, that doesn't mean I won't celebrate it! Here's an excellent article from Club386 where they commemorate it with an interview with co-founder Ross Smith www.club386.com/3dfx-voodoo-...

Aw yeah it's back to 1996 on LGR youtu.be/o0wDkCp3Eu4 Checking out the graphics card Sierra On-Line ever sold: the Screamin' 3D! That alone makes it a notable oddity, but it's also a Rendition Verite V1000, which can provide some awesome results!...and a slew of shortcomings and mid-90s quirkiness

I love this. I'm not even a Tandy user, but this faithful recreation of the mail-order VHS tutorial aesthetic by @tjbchris.bsky.social is perfection, and it's just pure joy to watch. youtu.be/K6McY24179Q

This is inhumane and unacceptable. And how were these workers thanked for enduring these conditions? Many were laid off. This is why we're organizing. A better industry is both possible and must come to pass if our artform and dignity are to survive.

This is amazing! SimCopter had a great soundtrack by Jerry Martin but the game’s files were highly compressed. So LucasVB got in touch with Mr. Martin and he was able to find most of the original high quality tracks! Awesome to hear “Hangar” in such clarity after 30 years archive.org/details/SimC...

Oh yeah, new video out today! You might think the only vintage and retro computer events are big shows like VCF Midwest. But did you know there might be cool computer meetups right in your backyard? Join me as I attend a local vintage computer meetup to see why small events can pack a big punch.
BuB's major new project-unveil blows me away. A universal, automatic slotket adapter that supports multiple CPU families, including Tualatin, and VIA C3?! I immediately bought a couple Tually Cellies in anticipation! Can't wait for its release! www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJ1u...
This is a crazy awesome story. A former XCOM 2 dev bought a vintage computer off of Amazon, which happened to have a build of the cancelled Quake 4: The Awakening expansion. It's now been uploaded to GitHub! www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/ca...
