Today, we're publishing an updated version of our topic page on forests and deforestation. Humans have been cutting down forests for millennia. The world has lost one-third of its forests since the end of the last ice age, 10,000 years ago. Half of this loss occurred in the last century alone.

In internal meetings, top USPS officials expressed concerns about new mail voting rules. One repeated concern regarded how to avoid invalidating an entire batch of ballots if one voter among thousands couldn’t be confirmed as eligible.

This is a blunt assessment of what the Trump regime is proposing for US science: they plan to take all the funding, essentially collapsing university-based research, in order to give that money to themselves, and they are lying about it.

Oh that “slow consensus peer review”. What a pain. It really is holding back the progress towards a golden age of science.

Among the other criticisms people are levying, #1 sure looks to me like an attempt to set up a system where they can funnel money to whichever people or companies they want with no oversight or need to justify what they're doing.
