Things can get better but they are not going to get better on their own. We have to accept that we are responsible for making things better, and that may include sacrifice. I am willing to accept that sacrifice, and while I am still figuring out what that means, I am willing to find the #GoodTrouble

A new survey of 1,000 American adults found that the strongest supporters of transgender sports bans are not the people who admire women most: they are the people who hold the most hostile views about women. www.helenwebberley.com/news/transge...

helenwebberley.comAre transgender sports bans really about protecting women? | Dr Helen WebberleyThe data says no. Those most hostile to women are most in favour of banning trans athletes.

It’s amazing watching a campaign be warned by their allies they were about to self immolate, proceed to self immolate with extreme vigor, and then proceed to continue to pour gasoline on themselves as they burned.

It’s really not that hard to say this. It is a morally clear and persuasive answer to such questions.

Kansas Dem Sen. nominee Adam Hamilton on trans rights: “I don’t think we should take a small group of people and bully them, pick on them, and hurt them. I understand one thing really clearly when it comes to transgender people, and that is Jesus told me I was to love my neighbor as I love myself”

The best evidence in favor of a Dem landslide is this--Republicans are stuck in the low 40s in the generic ballot while Dem numbers just keep creeping up. Dems are winning the late deciders, the low attention folks that pay attention at the end. Republicans aren't

Dem and Unaf raw ballots are +60% versus 2022, Rep are down 9%. That is *massive* and does not account for any persuasion. 15.6% of Dems who voted in 2022 have voted already, that was 9.1% in the last cycle. Reps are 6.7% vs 7.4%. Low Rep turnout led by recent R registrants.

This is completely insane surrender mentality. You do it to make them explain their decisions in a public forum. Your answer is to not use their platform, but that is a meaningless gesture unless you can convince a majority to do the same. Use it to undermine their entire corporate model.

Incredibly instructive context to view the interaction through. The Christian nationalist agenda (which Al-Sayed gives Tommy PLENTY of opportunity to walk out of) is effectively allergic to constitutionality. Treat them as anti-American and make them prove otherwise!

SCOOP: 'Tommy' from the now-viral exchange with Abdul El-Sayed is Thomas Teepell, a former staffer for Republican Senator Josh Hawley with close ties to Christian Nationalist Sean Feucht. He's the son of a former Bobby Jindal staffer whose consultant work was instrumental in getting Hawley elected.

I think the “transgender” issue and GOP success in 2024 are not connected in a meaningful way and 100% learned the wrong lesson. It’s basically the same thing that happened with what Trump did in Venezuela where he learned the wrong lesson and that led to disaster in Iran
