There seem to be a lot of #BlueMAGA voices that are outraged at any perceived maligning of what they believe to be Joe Biden's heroic management of the pandemic he declared "over" in '23 - the one that is, in fact, ongoing. "He did the best he could." No. He did what Impact Research told him to.

It would be if they still did journalism, but what the large scale media orgs seems to be for now is to put out just enough current events blurbs to sell a few papers to rubes without in any way endangering their billionaire owners’ next tee time with a politician they want to own.

I know there's a lot going on but I feel it should probably be more of an above-the-fold story that members of Congress released a thoroughly documented report directly accusing the president of the United States of being a serial rapist.

We don't know if H5N1 will ever make that evolutionary leap or not. We know that it could. But I hope we don't find out. A worst case bird flu pandemic could literally kill hundreds of millions of people & cause agricultural, ecological, & economic collapse.

Let me spell it out: It’s a terrible time to elect any right-wing government because they don’t give a shit about the planet or long term human survival because their entire focus is graft and corporate profits. Especially in a place like Brazil. But yeah, also fuck fascism.

To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. It's only socialism when you tax the wealthy & use it to fund services for the poor & middle class. Otherwise, it's just sparkling kleptocracy! Related: Family farmers have made more take-home income than non-farmers every single year since 1997. Yes, that's AFTER farm debts & expenses.

If the real priority was actually protecting girls from actual men who pose a risk to them in sports, it would make much more sense to advocate for banning male coaches and male doctors. And I’ve never, ever ever heard that suggestion, because that’s not really what this is about.
