Hey hey, I am super excited to announce I'll be talking about Fragment and creative coding at Svelte Summit! Join us in Ljubljana this November! 👇

Svelte Society@sveltesociety.dev

What does it look like to take creative coding to the next level? From a blank canvas to production-ready visuals in a highly interactive fashion - this is what the Fragment toolkit promises. Raphaël Améaume tells us all about it at this year's Svelte Summit - join us! https://sveltesummit.com

I externalized my WebGL library for running fullscreen fragment shaders in WebGL1/2 from Fragment internals this weekend and published it as a standalone library. github.com/raphaelameau... If you ever wanted to learn GLSL, this is a great way to start!

having one of those deep deep deep exhaustion from the injustice of years of precarity possibly leading nowhere days 😮‍💨😭 if anyone has a lead on something to help keep me afloat it would mean a lot! reposts appreciated also x

I'm very grateful to have been entrusted with @erlend.sh's Discourse payout to keep me above water while working on this, and with that narrow $1.5k/month runway I've worked harder than I ever have. That money's run out now, so please know that if you're in a position to support us at all

Started working on two new input types for Fragment over the weekend Link will look just like a button but use the correct html tag so you don't have to do weird bits to link to something A prop with params.options will be able to render either to a select (current behaviour) or a radio group

My favorite posts on all of Bluesky are the every few months "The For You gaming PC will be down while spacecowboy installs more RAM"

spacecowboy@spacecowboy17.bsky.social

For You will be down for ~20-60 minutes - I will be upgrading my computer's ram from 96GB to 192GB. I've been hitting uncomfortably high memory usage levels (90%+) and it is time to bite the bullet. I bought an identical kit a year ago and the new kit is exactly 7x more expensive.

your token costs: lower your server costs: lower your bandwidth costs: lower not to mention the fact that you'll ship in half the time and tear out less hair in the process. just use @svelte.dev, people. it's like other frameworks but better

We measured the LLM token cost of 5 frontend frameworks on identical components. Svelte wins, Angular costs 38% more — and your AI bill feels it. #webdevelopment

don't forget that there are droves of folks that care and are building towards a better future for everyone, but our comms tools are constantly bombarding us with the worse of humanity instead of celebrating them

If you ever wondered what you can do with CSS scroll-driven animations and view transitions @cydstumpel.nl is covering everything you need to know about it in her talk at JS heroes! 👏

This talk was really chaotic and really fun. I had a little panic attack before I started but all was good in the end 😅 @jsheroes.io www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtsc...

I’ve been thinking: now, more than ever, it’s the safest and best time to be yourself when designing your personal website. If every job application is going to be ignored by the awful process it gets sent to, then might as well go bananas on a personal website?

Made a reproduction on Svelte REPL svelte.dev/playground/e... If you try to increase the second input to 50, then it starts acting weird. I want to keep the list sorted and the focus to follow along #svelte

Svelte help needed 👋 I'm building a Gradient input for Fragment and I'm running into issues. When in focus of an input in a list, I want to reorder that list based on gradients stops but when two stops have the same values, the UI freezes if I'm in focus. See how it breaks at the end?

maybe they wouldn't need to open all those data centers if the code running on them was actually efficient . just a thought

turns out if you render the DOM as a texture, you can also break it. Using Chrome's new html-in-canvas API you can now paint a live DOM tree straight into webgpu. demo link below 👇 #html-in-canvas #webgpu #threejs

Making progress... - keystroke trigger onchange(15 + 1 = 16) through props - value changes the order of inputs, so I'm losing focus - onblur evaluates event.currentTarget.value (which is still 15) as a number and trigger onchange(15) → last value changes is not applied, focus is lost
