The serious point I’m trying to make is that there’s a distinct “before” and “after” when it comes to events. Things that were inconceivable prior to an event can become obvious after. But it’s important to think about what should be obvious *before* important people are panicking.

wait wait wait wait wait the filing only covers up through Q2 2026? it only covers the token maxxing honeymoon period of "AI can code now writing code yourself is dead spend ALL the tokens nowwww!!" yeah no shit they had ridiculous revenue growth specifically through the end of that period 🙄

Eniko Fox@enikofox.com

oh anthropic is profitable? i guess that makes theft of the commons at unprecedented scale and destruction of the environment to power the machine that automates the wholesale slaughter of meaning okay then and i will promptly reevaluate my position on AI is what i would say if i were insane

ahhh lmao that is a great catch

Roons tweet seems completely reckless. Not in infosec but from what I understand any hacking attempt not under procedure/contract can land you in jail. On top of this you may break stuff, which will land you in jail even longer.

"the simcluster" refers to the very active sims 3 modding community on bluesky and reddit

i dont know what a simcluster is and at this point im too afraid to ask

anyway it's good to copy stuff character by character from people's coding tutorials and look things up in the docs to understand what's going on

Real Toronto Ball Knowers already know this pattern is entirely 100% due to the Friends of Hanlans instagram debacle of yesterday afternoon

Azure@aguyuno.bsky.social

Weirdly also been tracking the Toronto mayoral this way lol. Bradford was ahead very briefly and suddenly Chow shot ahead last couple days no idea why. I don't give a shit about Polymarket, but it's always interesting to see where the opinions are.

ok thank you bluesky dot com for silently just uploading a black box instead of the image I want to upload when my (common) browser's enhanced tracking protection feature is on

one of the first resources I used to start programming was Learn Python The Hard Way, and copying code by hand is still great for me when learning a new language or tool because the point of following the tutorial is learning the engine, I'm going to try to not use any AI for coding/debugging.

Whyyyyyyyyy are my code screenshots black 😿 i wonder if this a known bug lol, I tried uploading them several different ways

Its forever been the wildest thing being at games conferences -especially the largest ones- and the talk schedule is like - creating sincere art from playful naivete - balancing passion and health - how to dodge parental controls when monetizing toddlers - regrets from my 1st commercial codebase

adamatomic@adamatomic.bsky.social

making games so you can hopefully afford to make more games is literally a different industry from grinding up people so number goes up and it is harmful to pretend otherwise regardless of whether or not we share a platform or a binary format

I really thought this was an exaggeration I can’t believe they explicitly said it

i cannot imagine doing this shit what the fuck lmao have people lost their marbles

the horrifying realization I kinda had for work is that "smart guy with bad office skills" is a position that got absolutely kneecapped by LLMs, if you don't get good at office work you're out. Which for ADHD I'm picking the LLMs, they're a legitimate disability aid.

Sam Barrett, PhD@ai4geo.bsky.social

AI can produce slop (fucking stop it!). It can also be an accessibility tool for non-native speakers and neurodivergent people. If you reject everything AI touches without reckoning with that, you should know how privileged and exclusionary you come across.

it continues to be funny to me when i hear people go "but obviously these dsa types just want to destroy the market and implement stalinism" while, meanwhile, they are actually *more* pro-market than the mainline democrat incumbents they're challenging

yeah it's seemingly hard to internalize how expensive programmers are. chillsky, a whole ass bsky client that you can use, cost me ~a dollar of my subscription, but would have been ~$100 at api rates but it would have cost ~$10,000 as contract work (a cheap senior engineer-month)

ellie lockhart (she/they)@eleanor.lockhart.contact

Anyway they (Ant/OAI) are sorta subsidizing the consumer market but the consumer market isn’t the market, B2B is, and the goal is to get people using the product at home and then persuading their employers to pay full price for it

I think it's odd to live in a time where we're just past the peak of everything. In less then two decades, billionaires have stripped all progress, turned to warmongering, and ensured we will all suffer for their pissing contest. That said, luggage wheels are great.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?
