Glen came to our "walk audit" of SE 7th & Sandy with AARP & Oregon Walks, even though he's still recovering from being hit by a car and seriously injured walking on a quiet street in his own neighborhood. We're so thankful he helped us audit this dangerous intersection, and took the time to share it

ODOT owns the restaurant, the legislature is the patron. The diner knows they need to eat healthier, but there's only steak on the menu. The patron needs to order off the menu and demand the restaurant open a salad bar; the restaurant needs a new chef that didn't have a previous career as a butcher.

You ever read a book so compelling you seek out scholarly articles arguing against it but they're so badly argued you just like the book more? Anyway you should read Gerontocracy in America

This is not reporting, this is regurgitating. Even a cursory look at the reality behind odots numbers show they are an utter fiction. Would love for the media to do their job!

On Friday, the Oregon Climate Action Commission heard updates on the Statewide Transportation Strategy report. The report provides progress on the state’s effort in reducing emissions from the transportation sector, which accounts for 35% of the state’s overall emissions.

I mean, even just statically, if you are missing your 2050 80% emissions reduction target, you aren't more likely to hit your 60% target. That is a total best case scenario! As we see now with 2050 reduction of 10%.

The Portland Metro Chamber raises some legitimate concerns about the direction of our regional economy. But I think its latest election article overlooks a much more important question: Who has actually been responsible for the decisions that got us here? 🧵 lnkd.in/p/gSNrG3e3

"Filling the tank of her Mazda3 hatchback costs $60 — the same amount she says she used to pay to fill her gas-guzzling GMC Yukon SUV. Schmidt, 20..." Wow, @oregonian.com, how do you fail such basic logic and fact checking in the intro to your article. www.oregonlive.com/politics/202...

oregonlive.comSurprising number of Gen Z Oregonians eyeing the exit, poll saysVoters are frustrated with high taxes and housing costs, a new poll commissioned by The Oregonian/OregonLive found.

This is statistically impossible. Mazda3 has a ~13 gallon tank, Yukon ~25. Lowest gas price in the last 4 years was $3.45/gallon; highest is ~5.50. The lowest it could possibly cost to fill the Yukon $86.25; the highest it could to fill the Mazda was $71.50 (20% less)

$60 in gas would get about 11 gallons, so fill her Mazda from 15% full. Filling the Yukon from 15% full (< 4 gallons) would cost $73. If your article is about surveys and stats, you shouldn't start it off with something obviously wrong!

My bike buddy and I just rode to the top of Mt Tabor, as a celebration of me graduating from the program. I’m honestly really emotional right now. This has been life changing for me.

writing about novick like he’s a woman of color: we worry that his desire to use the dais as a platform for quips about bob dylan and steely dan may distract from his substantive policy agenda. we hope he has learned greater emotional maturity and intellectual curiosity going into his next term

i never expected the O to endorsement me, and I’m not surprised they only discussed the headlines they’ve chosen to make about me. but, i’m pissed about how they’ve reduced Tiffany’s contributions. she’s done more than anyone in our races to build a functioning council.

If I lived in D4, I would rank Clark #4, and Zimmerman #5 Theres gonna be at least 1 conservative from the district, so you may as well have a say in which conservative it is. I dont like Olivia Clark and Zimmerman, but they are both pro-housing, which does count for something.

I think quite a few of us use bikes as an important antidepressant, both as a spot treatment and to maintain baselines long term though regular use. for about 20 years I’ve referred to bikes as “good mood machines” just based on my immediate experience after I ride them

If you're not sure if you should rank @tomforpdx.bsky.social above Torres or at all, I have a pretty simple test: do you think he will be better than Dan Ryan? Torres seems about as close to Ryan as you can get, and since Dan is by far the worst councillor, the answer is an easy "yes" IMO.

Seth Woolley is a goddamn state treasure.

i find it hilarious that the very people mad at me for shining a light on old guard, dubious backroom dealing have decided to attack me by doing even more obfuscation and committing crimes in the process. just come at me openly and on the merits guys.
