Only 9 weeks until Christmas. That's 420 walks, 4,828 ignored recalls, 27 gallons of mud, one near-death experience, six vet visits, and 22 "incidents" involving a long-dead seagull. "The perfect Christmas gift." "Funny, heartwarming, brilliant." 25% off via russelljonesauthor.com ⚠️ Order early

This is the advice that the UK media is sh!tting the bed over. It’s very sensible to have enough basic provisions to weather the first 24-72 hours of an emergency such as severe weather causing infrastructure disruption. Most countries advise their citizens to do this sort of stuff.
How about using your enormous clout to spread gov's guidance. The PSR advice really needs pushing. beready.campaign.gov.uk/be-ready-for...

I am a huge disaster nerd (hi @nameshiv.bsky.social and @rahaeli.bsky.social) and my first obsession as a kid was the Titanic it really cannot be overstated how absolutely heroic the Carpathia was once they learned what had happened to the Titanic, this is worth your time
This one's maybe a little on the ling side, but trust me, it's worth it. I've cried reading it multiple times. (1/3)

Among Keir Starmer's worst deeds were his legislative and rhetorical attacks on nature protection. In those two wasted years, we spiralled backwards, even from the Tory legacy. At this week's biodiversity summit, the Burnham govt should pledge to turn that round. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

I don't have a problem with immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers, but the problem is, they just don't integrate into our society. Oh. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

It’s almost as if the government has a lot of influence over messaging. One of the huge problems with Starmer was that he couldn’t work the news agenda competently.
This is testament to No.10's frankly astonishing degree of political competence. A policy which was branded electoral suicide 48 hours ago now showing signs of robust popularity.

Very good thread on the legalities of disrupting rescue operations in territorial waters.
1/23 Sorry, this will be long... There is a lot of shouting about what happened in the Channel yesterday. So I want to go back to basic law. Not immigration policies or political rhetoric. At sea, the starting point is simple: Preservation of life comes first under all maritime conventions.

Hair removal below the waist has reminded of this genuine Amazon review of Veet for Men. Sadly the tech bros have zero sense of humour, so the original is long gone, but it's preserved here. www.key.aero/forum/genera...
