Alarm at NHS England as patient records put under control of US private equity firm TPG via a takeover. Business model is profiteering, not care for patients. Regulatory/Govt silence on expansion of private equity. Public money fuelling PE growth.

Tinkering around the edges doesn’t meet the crises of our age: affordability, inequality and climate. We need rent controls, wealth taxes and real action on climate. Only the Greens are free of the vested interests to meet this challenge. inews.co.uk/opinion/zack...

But it was the argument the US gun lobby used to justify the endless school shootings… The deaths of children are a price we must pay for a citizenry armed to oppose an authoritarian tyranny, That’s what the lobby said. Is it now saying the deaths of all those countless children were for nothing?
Nothing they have ever said was true. Their entire system is a fraud.

I've seldom felt compelled to block people on BlueSky. But the hunger strike has mobilised some people's worst instincts: "Let them die! It's all their fault!" etc etc. It appears to trigger a deep, and deeply disturbing, inhumanity. I must have blocked 20 of them by now.
A number of people on this platform have been claiming that it's not up to government to shorten people's time on remand, however far beyond the statutory limit that time extends. Well, take it from a very eminent retired judge. It is. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...

A Government of cowards. Rather than tackle inequality - they've gone for pensioners, disabled people and now it's people fleeing war and persecution. They can't get away with this. Join.greenparty.org.uk
