❗❗❗Mark Zuckerberg's meta just suspended the No Kings Instagram account. I just rushed back from my local No Kings to jump on this. Bottom line, would be helpful for all pro-No Kings folks to elevate the issue and help us get the word out about No Kings today. The Nerd Reich strikes again.

sorry for extending the kelly clarkson discourse for yet another day but not hard to see why she got frustrated with this guy. he's asked three times whether or not the bird is for sale and won't give a clear answer!

I can’t believe people are still posting this meme when Obama signed the Iran deal, Biden withdrew from Afghanistan, and Trump started a war in Iran

Two races I think people aren't paying enough attention to: Gina Hinojosa in TX and Angie Nixon in FL. In any other year, I'd get it. But in this year -- and with *these* candidates -- it's worth having thinking big about what we could win...

Backing Prop G is madness. We have already voted on this TWICE. Chan is the new avatar of SF NIMBYs, always opposed to parks and transit and housing.

Sunset Dunes has become a proxy battle in SF’s congressional race. Scott Wiener wrote the official argument against Prop. G. Connie Chan backs it, quietly. missionlocal.org/2026/09/suns...

There’s just been a total collapse in the quantity and breath of city coverage in New York City that isn’t entirely evident until you pick up another city’s major paper — and, well, maybe there’s just no news in New York anymore.

I really think the fact that it takes decades to build critical infrastructure plays a significant role in blackpilling young people. government should be able to do things on a reasonable timeline

Building more market-rate rental housing causes rents in the area to fall and helps reduce homelessness.

Surely there is some mistake! There's no way this tax applies to me, a retired diplomat who lives in Paris who spent millions of dollars renovating the 12 million dollar apartment I never intended to live in. There must be some mistake

Weird how there always seems to be a ton of money for ~being shitty to people who annoy you on the internet~ but rarely enough funding for organizing or infrastructure work that builds long term power.

"Road rage" is what they call murder when a car is involved. It waters down the reality of the violence and the crime. When someone murders a fellow human with a gun, it's rarely called anything other than what it is: murder.

The fact that ostensible champions for the working class are on the fence about the fight for more homes is continually mind-boggling.

Clara Jeffery@clarajeffery.bsky.social

This lady in a business I’m in all the time and I got to talking. She gets off at 10 pm, drives two hours to Turlock—powered on red hot Doritos and nacho sauce—hopes to get 8 hrs of sleep before she drives 2 hrs back for a noon shift tomorrow. We must build more housing.

‪People are hungry for optimistic, positive visions of what might be possible. They don’t want to settle for the status quo bc the status quo is not working. Municipal leaders in particular have the power to actually *do shit* on housing, which is often the root of the concerns about cost of living.

The Purcell principle now officially just means “Republicans win.” For the reasons Sotomayor lays out here, SCOTUS’s eleventh hour intervention for Alabama Republicans is indefensible. It’s going to unleash massive chaos on the ground for both voters and election administrators. What a disaster.

After ICE deported Wendy Hernandez Reyes, it turned her 3-year-old son Orlin over to her sister’s estranged partner, who tortured Orlin and beat him to death. I can’t say what I think should happen to those responsible without violating this website’s TOS. www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/...

It's deeply meaningful to receive a 100% rating from @ppesacts.bsky.social/@ppgnyact.bsky.social. I learned political activism watching my mother fight for abortion access and hearing her stories of going to Albany to demand reproductive rights. I can't wait to take that fight to Albany myself.

Mayor Mamdani's housing plan is live! There's big sweeping YIMBY stuff: -Aggressive TOD upzoning -Major permitting reform -Rescuing & transforming NYCHA They're also looking at finer details, like fixing the FDNY inspections that so often delay CofO issuance (& invite petty corruption)

Stephen Jacob Smith@stephenjacobsmith.com

Mayor Mamdani has announced the Affordable & Efficient Code Reform task force, to convene later this year. The housing plan says that among other things, elevator and plumbing reform will be considered. www.nyc.gov/content/dam/... (pgs. 98-99)

Black voters are being diluted into powerlessness by MAGA states, as Trump tries to entrench GOP control of Congress permanently. New York MUST do more to fight back—but Democratic leaders have "no appetite" to treat this democratic crisis with the urgency required. Enough.

I remember when pizza, bagels, and coffee all cost a buck—and I'm no dinosaur. It's not just lunch. From housing to childcare to Con Ed. skyrocketing costs aren't just inflation—they’re the result of bad policy. We deserve better. Let's deliver lower costs for Lower Manhattan.

The grassroots @opennewyork.org community knows the rent is too damn high—and they've been working for years to change that. I've been proud to fight alongside them to legalize more homes, speed affordable housing creation, and protect tenants. Let's take the fight to Albany 💪

Open New York@opennewyork.org

@ryderkessler.bsky.social is running for AD 66. A longtime ONY member and co-founder of Abundance NY, Ryder has been a consistent voice for more housing, from Community Board 2 to the “Yes to Affordable Housing” campaign. In Albany, he’ll be a true champion for building more homes across New York.

🚨 ENDORSEMENT ALERT 🚨 I'm deeply honored to have the support of my home club, @sdnyc.bsky.social, in this race. Stonewall works tirelessly to ensure queer folks can thrive in NYC, fighting for the housing, healthcare, and human rights we deserve. Let's keep up the fight in Albany—and win 💪🌈

🚨 ENDORSEMENT ALERT! 🚨 Proud to have Council Member Shirley Aldebol in our corner. Shirley has spent decades winning for workers at @32bjseiu.bsky.social and City Hall. We both believe working people deserve more than promises—they deserve results. That's the kind of fight I'm taking to Albany 💪
