Having been accused of being ‘virtually anonymous’ by a respondent accusing me of making Twitter arguments (🤷‍♂️): I’m a retired hospital pharmacist in Yorkshire. My wife was a GP so we think we have a little insight into health care. Probably a bit woke.

The biggest irony is that the oft-stated reason for the right to bear arms in the US is so people can stop an autocrat ever taking control of the country Well done, guys, for stopping that Another lie exposed We all know the real reason for the proliferation of guns is profit for the gun industry

Farage on Today displaying his expertise in whataboutery like a good’un. But not really making a convincing case on anything. Still, I guess this only shows how biased the BBC is in his favour. 😑

Musk and Trump degraded Starlink, hampering the Ukranians from anticipating incoming Russian missiles and from launching their own attacks, and we now discover both lied they had nothing to do with it, not wanting to admit what they did. All that power in their hands. Yet they are still cowards.

The pandemic showed we have a fragile and underfunded system which is reliant on underpaid and unpaid carers. Older people in receipt of care were catastrophically let down. Many died before their time as a result and in a manner that was inhumane. That must never be allowed to happen again.

So the thrust of the Reform defence over racist members is: ‘yes we’re awful, despite our superior vetting processes, but we’re no worse than the other Parties who don’t even vet candidates (for local elections) and the media just doesn’t bother looking at them’ Hmmmm!

I’m beginning to think that the ‘strict and rigorous’ vetting process for prospective Reform candidates might not be quite as ‘strict’ or ‘rigorous’ as we are assured by that nice Mr Farage and his prospective cabinet.

Dear tv and radio producers. Thankyou for the invitation. But, no, I do not want to appear on your show to defend the idea that I am English, after 50 years of living and working here, because the increasingly feral right want to turn this into a "debate" and you cannot see how you're being played

Holy shit FOUR members of the ethics committee in Denmark that gave the green light to allow the widely-condemned RFK Jr-funded trial to proceed in Guinea-Bissau have now resigned in protest This quote is 🔥 Great reporting by @melodyschreiber.com www.theguardian.com/society/2026...

RFK Jr is funding a grotesquely unethical study on newborn babies in Guinea-Bissau; ethicists, pediatricians, clinical trial experts, & infectious disease experts are calling this horrific trial The New Tuskegee. It is unethical to withhold a life saving intervention from half of newborns FFS.

They have bleeps on their televisions whenever someone says the word "F***". You can't hold a can of beer in the street so you need to wrap it in a brown bag. You can't show a naked t** on television. But an execution live on TV is OK. What a nation of sick hypocrites.

If you just substitute the words 'working age' for 'fighting age', suddenly the arrival of youngish men and women doesn't sound threatening. Rather, it sounds like exactly what we need for an ageing population.

Trump: “I'm a high-IQ person, among the highest IQs anywhere in the world.”

Farage has described Burnham’s conference speech and comments on Brexit as the “biggest boost in my career”. Pretty much highlights everything anyone needs to know about this self serving ‘man of the people’ doesn’t it?

I know life is not easy for young people currently but in a world where they *expect* to go on holiday up to *seven times per year*, are things really as tough as we believe?

I’m baffled. Why is it acceptable to believe that you are British Asian but wrong to believe you are English? Or even an English Asian? Is it because English people are so very much more important, gifted and pig headed than everyone else? So Suella would rather not associate herself with us?

A year ago this week, Andy Burnham told a Labour Conference event that ‘PR is an idea whose time has come.’ Now, as Prime Minister, he has kickstarted the process to deliver it. A huge moment for everyone who believes in fair votes! Time is running out on First Past the Post.

Whatever the details behind the proposals, Burnham’s approach to politics is the right one. He’s not chasing votes, he has a plan and he’ll put it to the voters to back it or not. Recent decades have featured politicians following the popular vote not leading the country to better times. Good.

True to form, we can always rely on Farage to undermine any State or criminal issue no matter how serious or complex they may be. Proving yet again that he is not a responsible politician but merely a chancer out to promote his own game.

For all we know at the moment, the 5 men arrested near RAF Fairford might have been on a stag night. But the wild claims by Trump and Rubio suggest that, if they'd been apprehended in the US, they would have been denied due process. I hope our government tells them to butt out of our justice system.
