Susan Collins is always horrified by the predictable results of her own vote, which means Mainers who genuinely care about Susan Collins should elect Troy Jackson as he won’t vote for things that wind up upsetting Susan Collins, unlike Susan Collins

Bobby Kogan@bbkogan.bsky.social

I think something to consider here is that Collins voted to confirm Russ Vought as OMB Director despite the fact that he said a billion times that he thought Trump had a constitutional right to illegally impound funds, and now she’s doing shocked Pikachu reactions.

I'm not saying Dems should hold up the res for Darline Graham, but I'd hope they at least considered it... if simply because one Republican senator who blocked the res to replace Feinstein on the Judiciary Committee was Lindsey Graham. 2/

They want to convince their followers that we are un-American, in the wrong country. But it’s them. THEY are in the wrong country. Their goals, plans, ideology are no less than an insurrection against the Second Founding - the constitutional framework for our country created after the Civil War.

always a bit weird to me that these folks think the concepts of murder and adultery are ok to teach young kids about, but these same folks think young kids would be scarred if they learned about the existence of gay people.

Ken Paxton’s hypocrisy is well-documented. He's one of the loudest proponents for requiring schools to display the Ten Commandments in classrooms. Yet he’s famously eschewed Number 7 multiple times (thou shalt not commit adultery).

I think Democrats like Cory Booker should take a hard look in the mirror and consider why Jeff Bezos loves their tax cut proposals so much. Billionaires would love to see a weak state with a gutted fiscal capacity.

this seems like a pretty good distillation of the right's concept of free speech. they get to say whatever vile and threatening shit they want and if you get mad, they get to kill you.

A far-right idiot amplified by Alex Jones, Jason Whitlock, Gavin McInnis and others has been streaming himself saying racist shit to black people in order to provoke them into violence so he can shoot them. He just shot just a black man here in Tennessee.

Trump campaigned on bringing down the cost of living "starting on day one," and then: started a trade war; deported much of the farm workforce, bombed Iran, allowed healthcare subsidies to expire, cut food assistance, ran an interest-rate boosting deficit, and attacked fed independence.

Breaking: Tennessee Republicans pass new 9-0 gerrymander after SCOTUS destruction of Voting Rights Act eliminating state’s only majority-Black district & last Democratic seat. Splits Memphis, which is 63% Black, into 3 districts to disenfranchise Black voters. Quite literally a return to Jim Crow

How is this being treated as normal? A Republican governor is declaring a state of emergency to cancel n ongoing election for Congress. If you think this is ends with redistricting, you are not paying attention.

This is actually the perfect distillation of the right wing worldview. A predatory industry treats consumers unfairly so it must be immigrants' fault.

By all that is holy, if and when SCOTUS decides that birthright citizenship is protected in the Constitution, don't let the 3-3-3 numpties tell you this is a moderate, centrist court. Rejecting an a-textual stupid Hail Mary doesn't cash out to a push when it comes to eviscerating the VRA today.

It's not hyperbole in the least to say Musk purchased a six-month shadow presidency for $280 million and used the power of that shadow presidency to 1. Steal the government’s data, 2. Permanently damage the state’s ability to regulate his businesses, and 3, kill non-white people.

Still feel like "Musk and his crew of incels destroyed a bunch of stuff they didn't understand and thereby hastened the deaths of millions of children" did not get the public attention it warranted.
