I think something to consider here is that Collins voted to confirm Russ Vought as OMB Director despite the fact that he said a billion times that he thought Trump had a constitutional right to illegally impound funds, and now she’s doing shocked Pikachu reactions.

The issue of fidelity to the Senate's constitutional role of advice and consent to presidential nominations should by itself be reason to vote against all GOP candidates for Senate. Think of people like Hegseth, so obviously unqualified and morally unfit to run DoD. Or Todd Blanche as AG, RFK, etc.

So weird that she keeps falling for the lies and empty promises. It’s almost like she doesn’t really care.

Collins isn't an idiot. She just wants voters to THINK she's an idiot --- at which she has succeeded masterfully, and it has served her remarkably well.

Vought specifically put this in Project 2025 of using the Unitary Executive to impound funds & that he considered the Impoundment Act unconstitutional. But she voted to confirm Vought.

Maybe the bribe has something to do with it. Once you accept a bribe, someone owns you. Usually the person who knows that you did it because they can hold it over your head. In this case, I think that someone is probably Donald.

Republican Susan Collins also voted to confirm RFK Jr. She knew the destruction both Russ Vought & RFK Jr. would cause to the U.S. And Collins voted to confirm both of them anyway! Collins MUST GO! www.nytimes.com/2026/09/26/h... #MEsen #Maine #MEpol #2026Midterms

The timeline is pretty simple: Collins voted to confirm Vought after he had already refused to commit to following the Impoundment Control Act. Now she’s calling a pocket rescission unlawful. This legal fight didn’t exactly come out of nowhere

Wish someone would pin her down on this during a campaign stop. With notes on how obvious it was that they were going to do this stuff. And then ask her - are you really upset, or just stupid?

Look, if OMB can withhold or disburse funds without Congressional approval, it undermines Collins's ability to engage in pay for play or even a politicians honest "I brought money to my constituents." If it's all just Vought and Trump, she's got nothing.

"Something to consider" is that anti-corruption messaging is really popular and now that she's accused of it, she's going to suddenly find her spine to differentiate herself.

Somehow I don't think the shocked face & request for the smelling salts will help Collins much this time. Not when her own greasey maws are stuck in the very same congressional cash register. Jail for them all!

“… Any effort to rescind appropriated funds without congressional approval is a clear violation of the law.” And of course, Sen Collims is gonna work with the Democrats to have Vought’s ass impeached, right? Right? Or is “being concerned” enough?

Does Collins actually read and/or comprehend what bills she is signing or does an aide put it in front of her and she signs?

“The president ran on the notion that the Impoundment Control Act is unconstitutional. I agree with that.” Russ Vought, January 22, 2025, hearing before the Senate Budget Committee.

Conduct like this widens the scope of Collins' damage beyond just the Senator from Maine. Her capitulation to criminal misanthrope Vought undermines our national strengths in research, higher ed and any grants he can claw back. She should be ashamed and hopefully, ousted.

Unfortunately this shtick still works for her. Maine seems to be a lost cause. bsky.app/profile/aag-...

www.nytimes.com/2026/09/24/u.... C’mon Mainers, she is a Trump lapdog. She is responsible for the corrupt Supreme Court. Whatever she brings into Mainewill never equal what Trump has stolen from the people of Maine. #ElectADemocrat whenever you can. Not without flaws, but not fundamentally evil.

By that time we knew he'd said he wanted to put federal employees "in trauma," and we had a ringside seat that was in the ring. Thanks for the support, Senator!

Her pattern is to approve reactionaries so as to secure Republican primary voters and also lie about being surprised by those reactionaries so as to reassure moderate general-election voters that she's not herself evil.
