He/him. Pretty queer. Writer when I can actually focus, drone pilot, media enthusiast. Doctor Who stuff happens against my better judgement.

The only reason I can think of for this news not being absolutely everywhere is that large media orgs don’t want to be seen as putting their thumbs on the scales a week before election day. And that’s cowardly as shit.

Beyond disgusted by even more rape allegations against the President of the United States. "In total, more than 25 different women...have independently accused Donald Trump of rape, sexual assault, or other sexual misconduct." Report w/ new details: democrats-judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-su...

Let them eat $5000 Mar-a-Lago hamburger and maybe a small dessert

Trump's affordability message: "You could even come to Mar-a-Lago. You'll be my guest. The problem is that for $5,000 the most you'll be able to buy is a hamburger and maybe a small dessert. I'm not even sure you could buy that! No, don't go there. It's not a good place if you're price conscious."

Clayface is really good. Proof that you don't always need a new idea, sometimes just wheeling out a really good old one and committing to fully exploring the implications with a good cast will do. And the screwed up bits hit a lot harder for how focused, restrained, and low stakes it is.

In Michigan, Musk paid for calls targeting Muslims that painted Democrats as pro-Israel, and also paid for calls targeting Jews that painted Democrats as pro-Hamas.

The political media is visibly chafing at the current situation, where Republicans are glaringly awful, fucking everything up, running deviant candidates everyone hates, and Dems are just being normal & winning. The force is out of balance. They are viscerally eager to go after Dems about something.

some good local political drama: there's a crowded mayoral race in a nearby town, and one local business owner put out signs opposing a local councilwoman who's running. the signs get stolen, but it turns out he put airtags in them and they were traced to the councilwoman herself.

Forgotten Island is an absolutely delightful film. Continues the modern stylistic push from animated films like Kpop Demon Hunters into new cultural territory while delivering a great madcap adventure with a really strong emotional throughline and anarchic, deliciously morbid streak. Good stuff.

If Secret Invasion had just been for Olivia Colman's character what VisionQuest is for Spader, it might have been watchable. It doesn't hurt that VisionQuest has some nice extra elements like "ideas", "characters", and "humor."

JK Rowling’s transphobia has ruined Harry Potter. That is a shame, there was a real magic in the fantasy of it. As a kid, I always loved imagining going to private coed boarding school. Inheriting a big pile of money. Drinking non alcoholic beer. Owning a little slave guy

A trio of new polls could spell disaster for the GOP in the 2026 midterms over their anti-trans ad obsession. Could we be looking at a wave election for democrats fueled, not suppressed, by Republican anti-trans ads? We examine the polls in our latest piece. Subscribe to support our journalism.

Hazbin Hotel discourse is so weird because it seems to be far more people complaining about the problematic unhealthy sexual dynamics - the most interesting choices in the damn thing - and far less people pointing out the storytelling is actively incompetent.

Characters don't just turn up to fill roles in the narrative. Clusters of them do. It's not just one media demon, it's several. Why? I dunno, aesthetic? It's like keeping track of seventeen polycules as they move around a bar, occasionally swapping members, and some of them have beef.

I swear to god the administration is going down the list of reasons pundits said it wasn’t fascism and doing them all one by one

Watched Scream 7 this evening through means. God, it's depressing to shit out the exact kind of legacy sequel this series was making fun of like 3 movies back without so much as a wink.

Rabid zionism and vapid nostalgia brand extension took a series that even in its weakest moments had a wit and vitality to it and made... whatever the fuck that was.

The James Spader show ft. Paul Bettany as nominal lead is off to a reasonably entertaining start, despite a pretty textbook fridging and some typical Marvel glibness. Cunk turning up was a nice surprise.

"When Trump plucked Katie Zacharia from obscurity & appointed her as his new press sec, he called her 'an attorney.' This is also how Zacharia describes herself. But Popular Information searched for evidence in all 50 states, plus DC, that she was admitted to practice law anywhere — & found none."

The BBC announcing a two part doc on JK Rowling the same week as erasing a “protect the dolls” t-shirt is a pretty clear choice. They’re just full on promoting another network’s show now as long as it’s trans people who pay the price. Good to know, Beeb.

His point is actually correct - the arguments about "cancelation" and "woke" have been going on for decades under different names like "PC" etc, and the culture war is the same old bullshit weaponized by bad actors. But it sure is framed here to look reactionary!

Q: You said Russia and Ukraine agreed to a ceasefire, but both sides said they have not agreed to that TRUMP: Well they agreed, you know why? Because I said 'you agree.' That's why.

Either this show will be a massive failure, which will have big commercial consequences and therefore terrible creative ones elsewhere in HBO/Skydance, or it will be a success, which will result in new frontiers of padding across every other established property.

As a San Diegan I'm just relieved this means the Republicans no longer are claiming us as being on their team 🤮

Trump: "With the war, it's just artificial. It's a little bit high. It's a small price to pay ... let them take out Los Angeles, let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay."

I have to confess I find the style of that new Doctor Who for babies show tragically ugly, but I could see babies liking it. And I'm the grown ass man about to watch the baby Doctor Who show for babies anyway so like does it really matter what I think?

folks, i can't tell you how many times i've rewatched this ad *that republicans are paying people to see*
