Man, that's an easy mistake to make. I'm not sure why peeps are jumping down your throat for it. As explained elsewhere, to be a GC in CA, you have to be an admitted lawyer. So you read what looks to be her misrepresentation and were misled. Which is why it is a violation of prof. ethics to make it.

"Influential Women" is a pay-to-play magazine that prints whatever you want to say about yourself for a fee. The fact that she identified herself as a GC is the entire problem - she does not appear to have been admitted to the bar in any state, which means she is not qualified for that role.

The article in the OP says she claims to have been their general counsel on her Linkedin page, but that's what's raising the question: either she's lying in her bio, licensed someplace that hasn't been checked, or was engaging in unauthorized practice of law. (Or possibly two or all three of those!)
