Strikes me that when the hacks all went to Reform conferences and declared it very professional and detoxified, either the UK’s largest grouping of pub uncles somehow maintained best behaviour for a whole weekend, or the UK’s finest political journalists just weren’t very observant

Tim Bale@timbale.bsky.social

“We're not f****** stupid enough to p*** off the entire woke south or centrist south really of the country,” “You need to seem palatable to everyone...We just need to get f****** elected, that’s all that really matters. We won't necessarily say what we are doing, part of the point is to not [say].”

Liverpool defending very well again but we don’t have enough good passers of the ball to look effective as an attacking force. Will continue to be an issue until we play Nyoni regularly and/or recruit.

Feel for any nice blokes out there called Tom Watson. Been a hell of a month for wankers giving you a bad name.

Aurelien Mondon@aurelmondon.com

The "left behind" we always hear about? 🤔 "Watson divides his time between the UK and US and founded the recruitment firm Futura Energy Group, which describes itself as “a specialist recruitment and build-with talent partner for companies operating across AI”" www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...

There is no version of reality in which these assclowns will ever permit any kind of left wing opposition to this or any government again, certainly not without endless ridiculous bullshit and shenanigans. And that is unconditional, it is not at all contingent on anything that any of us do or say.

Klopp's comments show he is the right leader for Germany at this time, before you even get to the football. This weekend's Morning Star column.

A crowded Liverpool restaurant. Alexander Isak rises to go to the bathroom. As he walks through, he spots Thierno Barry at another table. Their eyes meet. Isak points. Barry pats his chest. It’s all on us to keep scouse football afloat.

Richard Hughes is going to sign Barcola and nobody else and is going to pat himself on the back for signing another big star as he walks off into the sunset leaving our squad weaker than at any point since about 2015.

And other find from @monkemma.bsky.social: Arday blogged all those marathons in real time. I can’t remember the dozens of journalists who told me there’s no evidence he ran them. Are any of you big enough — or good enough journalists — to correct your error?

So, it’s not a conspiracy, and you are not imagining it. The biggest and wealthiest tech leaders are genuine fascists. They are leading an active and intentional systematic attack on labor. And they have radicalized each other while sidelining or removing the remaining decent execs in the industry.

Cody Gakpo is 27 with 4 years on his contract, over 50 PL and European goals among 120 club career goals. 24 international goals. Rarely injured and used to playing 3 games a week. With the prices relatively unproven players are going for this summer, he should be £100m.

Forget about COVID for a second, the idea that we live in a country that is deferential to expertise is fucking mental. Barely any decision governments have made for decades have been evidence based.

The News Agents@thenewsagents.co.uk

“I’m glad we live in a country that is deferential to expertise - but at times in the pandemic, that did go too far.” “I’m not sure school closures were a price worth paying.” Lewis on how ‘legitimate questions’ have emerged - and should be asked - about how we handled Covid.

Imagine UEFA's statement about FIFA's plans to sell off the World Cup, but replace all the references to FOOTBALL with WATER Can you now see the absurdity of water privatisation? Andy Burnham has called the FIFA president to go. But our water is still in private hands: vist.ly/5d5x8

The replies here demonstrate that the liberals/centrists are very very keen on having their wallet inspected again.

Andy Burnham, "To me, carers should be the best paid people in society, not the worst" "Many people from other countries have been caring for my dad" Andy Burnham praises migrants to the UK who care for our elderly, a stark contrast to Keir-island-of-strangers-Starmer

CW: rape US military bases in the UK are effectively acting as consequence-free rape centres. They should all be shut down. Why aren't the "protect our women and girls" crew storming these bases?

I really like Bradley Barcola and think he’s an excellent left sided forward who probably upgrades Gakpo. I have no idea why LFC seem to be making that a priority when we have glaring holes at right wing, centre back, right back and centre forward.

I actually think the trillionaire saying his AI tool will remake a movie without the Black and trans actors in it should be a bigger story because it’s a perfect example of why the ruling class wants AI to succeed: so they can remake reality without those they deem undesirable - every nazi’s dream.

Imagine having a place called "The House of Lords" full of people who are just put there on a whim by various governments for life and you can't ever vote them out or anything. Anas Sarwar is there with like Alan Sugar and Michelle Mone and Andrew Lloyd fucking Webber. Extremely undignified country.

This is absolutely disgraceful. Shame on the Labour government for doing this. And shame on all who continue to support them in their philistinism, bigotry, racism and pandering to the far right.

Donald Trump has no shame, but Folarin Balogun is a class act. He spoke to Belgian head coach, Rudi Garcia, after the match. Garcia said of Balogun "He came to talk to me. I really liked that. It is not his fault. He is not the one to blame. That's what I told him." H/T @resistrebelrevolt.net

Hardly a new point, I know, but these race riots are another example that, while Starmer is up in a froth about banning children from social media, the biggest danger is adults having their brains cooked by rage-baiting misinformation on Facebook and Twitter and being radicalised into violence.

If you are a football fan with any morals and aren’t boycotting this absolute shitshow then what are we even doing.

Al Jazeera English@aljazeera.com

Award-winning Somali referee, Omar Abdulkadir Artan, has been removed from the World Cup roster after being denied entry to the US despite holding a valid visa.

I’d hazard a guess that the people at a business event that invites war criminal Alastair Campbell to speak aren’t exactly representative of being ‘out and about’ in the real world. What percentage does he think would vote ‘stay’ if he went to the darts where thousands sing ‘Kier Starmers a wanker’?

flyingrodent@flyingrodent.bsky.social

Yeah they’ve got nothing, they don’t know what they’re doing. That was obvious ten years ago but it’s surely undeniable now.

If the suits at Liverpool want to start being taken seriously again as smart people then Richard Hughes needs to be in front of cameras and microphones explaining strategy on at least a semi-regular basis. They can’t leave the next head coach in the same position that Slot was put in.
