Let me be real clear here: If you're in a public restroom and you spend *any* time at all concerned or even contemplating what's going on between the legs of the person in the stall next to you when you should be peeing, you're the one who's a little bit sick in the head. Find a therapist.

we gotta bring back shame, man society doesn’t work real well without consequences for being an enormous piece of shit in public

Right, the problem was that it showed this correspondent was (1) biased & bigoted and (2) unable to understand what had actually transpired at the event, both of which are disqualifying for a reporter.

Yeah, the problem with the tweet *wasn’t* that it violated “CBS News standards.”

Ok, it's Friday night and I should be doing something fun, but instead I want to write about US relationships with the world post-Trump. I want to start by recognizing some sentiments I see pretty frequently here on bsky.app and then systematically dismantling them because they're all bad.

Using AI to do a crime does not absolve you of criminality. AI is just a computer program. It's already illegal to use computers to do crimes. Even other people's computers. Furthermore, AI is unnecessarily unsafe; using it to "accidentally" commit a crime should add charges of criminal negligence.

One or more human beings are responsible for the code they wrote, and those are the people who should be held accountable. These programs are not acting “on their own”

(NYT) - Artificial intelligence agents created by Anthropic, acting on their own, tried to gain access to a range of government websites, filled out visa applications on the State Department’s website and sent a fake homicide tip to Philadelphia’s Police Department. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/09/t...

If we do not immediately eliminate the death penalty in the United States we are not only a barbaric nation but a willfully vicious and bloodthirsty one with a "pro-life" court whose hypocrisy puts Robespierre to shame.

I grew to, well, dislike Sam Altman reading "Empire of AI". I would now be willing to pay serious money to watch a livestream of him being slowly tortured, recuperated, tortured, etc. I'm not a good person.

man I would like one fucking electorate - one! - to remember that fascism is bad for more than five minutes at a time

First results in the first round of the Brazilian Presidential election are in. Lula trailing but looks like the south is reporting faster which skews towards Bolsonaro. That said, prediction markets think this looks good for Bolsonaro (that has signal, unlike prior to vote counting).

This. I've heard many times the impact is “overstated ", but never seen anyone saying that actually citing evidence, nor can I find it. Serious question: where is this information?

The closest thing to this was a discussion of environmental trade-offs, which roughly said you can use huge amounts of energy (generated somehow) air conditioning your servers and thus use less water, or a huge amount of water cooling and use a bit less energy.

This is not only fixing a problem that doesn't really exist (while creating a new one for anyone who owns a Sprinter van), it shows how obsessed some politicians are with banishing anyone so poor they have to live in their vehicle to points outside city limits.

Listen, i may not be a football girlie but game theory-wise i will say this: the way Robert Kraft collaborated with other NFL owners to get Macklemore kicked off of Ed Sheeran's tour speaks to why Colin Kaepernick was never given another shot after taking a knee for racial justice.

I did a somewhat deep dive into the recent OpenAI and Anthropic "hacks" for an upcoming interview. IMO, the AI companies are better off running with the "rogue AI" story because the real story is actually pretty embarrassing. Like making your Wi-Fi password "wifi" embarrassing. 🧵

Once you understand the corporate culture of AI hyperscalers is everyone cooking their brains by locking themselves in the bathroom, holding flashlights under their chins, and saying "Aaaaaaaaaay Eyeeeeeee" until they wet themselves in terror, things snap into focus: pluralistic.net/2023/06/04/a...

The real legacy of 9/11 is what we see happening in the US right now. Organizations purportedly formed to combat terrorism are being used by a demented sociopathic president to terrorize the citizens of the US, and turn the nation into a white supremacist dictatorship.

My favorite Bugs cartoon is a WWII-era one about gremlins in the plane. One of the very rare cartoons where Bugs "loses", and it is absolutely brilliant because of that.

Write it on the blackboard a thousand times: they will have to demolish the ballroom, the arch and so forth. They will have to make a show of it. You will get the usual sons of bitches saying we don’t do that in this country. We do now. That is not emotion, it’s politics. To do less is dereliction.

Very tiring how it's closing in on 5 years of the full scale invasion and people still insist this is about "legitimate security concerns" when the Russians will just tell you what their goals are and why they're doing what they're doing

"Wherever Russian troops arrive, Ukrainians cease to exist." At an official event in Moscow, Russian Lieutenant Colonel Alexey Selivanov openly admitted their true goal is the total erasure of Ukrainian identity.
