Now that I am no longer employed by my previous employer, I can finally share what it was like using Crossplane to manage hundred of Kubernetes clusters 🤔 And those learnings definitely have nothing to do with said former employer.

I really wanted a new job. I applied to exactly one role that was at least equal to my existing level. I went through the interviews. I got the job. Still, you keep wondering about opportunity costs e.g. should I have applied for senior roles instead given market conditions 🙃

Social media has not been going well for me over the past years. 💔Half of the companies are evil 🥱90% of content is completely irrelevant to me And all I want is to reconnect with the lovely people I met throughout the past years at conferences ✨

Your role as a platform engineer will move towards orchestrating and directing AI activity across your distributed systems. Use your systems to gather information -- use your system to react. Your main job will be keeping a comprehensive view to advance the tooling.

My default assumption with a talk is that you are going to provide some actionable strategies and key takeaways. That's why you're giving the talk. Using that phrase without providing teaser examples just makes me think you wrote this with ChatGPT and don't know where you're going with it yet.

While I was growing up, I always thought that the type of discrimination women face, in the middle of their career, would hardly affect me because "discrimination will be largely overcome or resolved by then". Men, you have failed me.

Please choose two (max three with partner's help) of the following: * Dog * Kids * Full time, demanding job * Running household I have no idea how any single parent would do it without additional (potentially paid) help.

Yesterday I told a man in his nice Mercedes Convertible "People like you are the reason our world is going down" He sat for 10min+ in his car with the engine on so I walked over and asked him whether he ever heard of global warming, his reply "what does that have to do with you?"

It's not like he had a baby next to him that had to be kept cool. It's not like people like him would not have the financial ability to make better decisions in the car they buy. He does not have to be worried to be attacked in the parking lot through his open window at 7 AM. The list goes on...

Oh dear, it has everything to do with me, I have to live on this planet with ignorant people like you. I don't get a choice but you clearly have the choice to turn your engine off in the morning and open some windows while you sit in your car.

Some companies that are backing oss seem to be completely disconnected from the real struggles people have, using their tooling at scale. 'We have no vision, but let's slap some AI analysis on top', I'm sure that will improve usability.

There is a very toxic discussion style some people have. You start a topic, one person provides an argument; instead of engaging with & trying to understand the argument & counterarguing against your argument, they start presenting their own arguments that you are pushed to disprove.

I don't open my mouth about topics I don't know anything about - might even be the other extreme. Instead, I listen and try to come up with questions even if I might disagree with my gut feeling -- especially, if it's the first time I encounter a topic. I wish some people would be doing more of that

There is a very toxic discussion style some people have. You start a topic, one person provides an argument; instead of engaging with & trying to understand the argument & counterarguing against your argument, they start presenting their own arguments that you are pushed to disprove.

Meaning, no matter what you said, no matter if they have not read up on the topic, no matter whether or not their argument is valid -- You will have to come up with a way to disprove them so the knowledge you shared remains valid to them.

This is how anti vaxxers argue about science. How lots of non vegans approach to discuss a plant based based diet. And how, in many schools, you are taught to win arguments -- because it becomes impossible to have a balanced knowledge exchange.

It was such a joy and a privilege to talk with @nikadubrovsky.bsky.social about her childhood, her life as a parent, and her gift of collective reimagination. Just listen to her talk about her work with kids, the passion is contagious!

In our latest episode we talk with artist & writer @nikadubrovsky.bsky.social about her work with her late husband, David Graeber, on a4kids.org and her vision for a collaborative Playground of the Future. www.humanrestorationproject.org/podcasts/bey... #EduSky #K12

I have not been able to contribute much to open source tools throughout the past 10 month (not the easiest thing to do in my current role) -- BUT I am trying my best & will be back at #KubeCon in London 😱🎉 Let's catch up? 👉👈

Besides, what are your favorite works by The Wachowskis? Between the Matrix series, Cloud Atlas, Speed Racer, Sense8 😍, Jupiter Ascending, The Animatrix, etc, what a legacy already offered to sci-fi! I love them.
