Ah, this explains Kennedy’s anti-Arab rhetoric
Netanyahu is sounding utterly desperate today. He's posting non-stop about high Arab voting turnout to create hysteria and fear. He also released a video statement claiming "They are trying to steal the election from us!" Arab Israelis make up 21% of the Israeli electorate.
@cosmichope.bsky.social Hello. Would you be willing to tell me about the Druid element of your profile?

The language of academia seems deliberately verbose and ridden with jargon. The more complex the language, the more simple the actual idea being communicated - the language is a disguise to suggest sophistication.

Imagine a world where we are no longer dependent on oil and nuclear energy. It's coming and it's better and that's why the vested interests are doing everything in their power to stop it
Solar has overtaken nuclear. A decade ago it supplied 1% of the world's power. In 2025 it met three quarters of global demand growth. Almost nobody saw it coming. I spoke to Jocelyn Timperley at BBC Future about why. www.bbc.co.uk/future/artic...

Yeah, it’s stupid. They probably know this. It doesn’t matter. They only say this stuff to stay in the headlines and in the social media discourses. And they’ll be plenty of people reading it nodding along and saying “yes!”
Reform plan to bring back imperial measurements to help boost US trade, not realising that US imperial measurements are different from UK ones. So dense a black hole is empty space by comparison.

"This could have been an email." Aragorn whispers. "He ALWAYS pulls this shit in 'Any Other Business" Boromir replies, quietly. "It's why Faramir marked himself as busy when the invite went out."
Elrond tells the long story of the One Ring, from its forging in the Mountain of Fire, to its betrayal of Isildur at the Gladden Fields. Frodo is startled to learn that Elrond himself marched with Gil-Galad in the Last Alliance against Sauron, more than three thousand years ago.

The Lord of the Rings is essentially a series of faculty meetings broken up by several long walks in the countryside.

Isaiah 29:13 "These people draw near to Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me; their worship of Me is but rules taught by men." This passage underscores the importance of heartfelt devotion over mere external compliance with religious norms.

It’s the feeling that they are trying to butter us up for something that makes me queasy. Especially when they are telling us people are going to get conscripted. It’s the sense of perpetual dread: war; infrastructure failure; system collapse; disease; a burning planet. >>
Finding some of the reaction on here to the 'stockpiling' stuff a bit odd. The Russians successfully firebombed the last prime minister's house! There was a cyberattack on a French supermarket a few weeks ago!

Oh for goodness sake. Just nationalise it. And indeed nationalise every water company with a high debt to profit ratio. Essential infrastructure cannot be treated as a cash machine for either shareholders or creditors (to the manifest detriment of bill payers & their local areas).
We have a tumble dryer that was given to us by a relative and we paid nothing for it. Been running it for years. Recently started making the most terrible noise. A £6 teardrop bearing, easily accessible for replacement, sorted it.
What item has given you best value in terms of use? I bought a secondhand Herman-Miller Aeron chair for about £500 in ~2009. Must have used it nearly every day since. Reckon it has another fifteen years in it.
