While the election result in #Brazil is obviously good news, we should remember that countless American wannabe-fascists poured $billions into achieving the opposite result and now have nothing to show for it, so it's not just good news, but also objectively hilarious.

"My first 5 TTRPGs, in the order I played them:" Hmm. Something like: 1. Vampire the Masquerade 2nd ed 2. AD&D 2nd ed 3. Mage the Ascension / rest of Old WoD 4. Shadowrun 5. In Nomine

1.Marvel Super heroes (FASERIP) 2. AD&D 2nd ed. 3. Mage: The Awakening 4. Feng Shui 5. D&D 5th ed Its a small and not particularly dignified list.

how all of these conversations would actually go

Even if this were viable as a concept (that there's an afterlife; that it allows conversations with others; that enslavers are going the same place as you), who cares? Oh, are you mad at me, Ben Franklin? Tough shit.

I want to take a moment after the chaos of today to say something about the fandom, and bring up a post from former Dragon Age writer @thatotherwriter.bsky.social It was posted over a year ago when the DA team was laid off, but still applies: Dragon Age isn't dead because it's yours now.

Gotta raise a glass to Bioware. Baldur's Gate 1+2, Neverwinter Nights 1, Mass Effect 1-3 (MASS EFFECT for goodness' sake). Star Wars KOTOR. These were some of the greatest PC games of all time and absolutely changed the RPG industry.

Cancelling the next Mass Effect game is surely the same as saying "we don't like money". Anyway, EA was bought by Saudi and Jared Kushner a few months ago, so.

For so much of my career as a game writer, Bioware stood as the pinnacle of our craft. It's been a long, slow decline, and I knew their last project was troubled, but this still feels like the end of a golden era

Built as a set for silent films in 1920, THE WITCH’S HOUSE was moved lock stock & barrel in the mid 20’s to Beverly Hills by film producer Ward Lascelle. Recently refurbished by its new owner it’s unsurprisingly long been a mecca for Los Angeles kids on Halloween. 🎃

The Society of Authors has withdrawn from the ill-conceived concession to the dark side that was the "ethical GenAI" charter because of the mass and vocal outrage of authors. Publishers need to be made afraid of this level of anger too.

Jackdaw will not bring down bills or protect jobs. This is an irresponsible decision from a government that seems to care more about the profits of fossil fuel companies than the money in your pocket or the safety of our planet.

We all know the "Viggo broke his toe" story but what's another movie fact you're personally compelled to bring up every time without prompting? For me, it's the fact that Robin Tunney is wearing a wig in The Craft because of having just shaved her head to save her job filming Empire Records.

Perhaps the head of the British Army should not be doing media appearances instructing the public to accept massive benefit cuts? Perhaps he should be fired for doing that, and replaced by a different Rupert who will keep his nose out of politics.

That should certainly be the trigger for all governments in Europe to eliminate their dependence on MS, and, indeed, ALL US tech companies, because Apple and Google have bent the knee in other ways.

And here's the kicker: Microsoft has terminated the M365 and Outlook access of international public officials whose official acts made Trump angry.

The comments on this are giving me hope, joy, healing my bad knees, etc Turns out AI slop is wildly unpopular and also bad.

It's not "amid intensifying competition for user attention." it's to boost the stock price. It's always to boost the stock price. Billionaires can choose to not make more money; they just don't

No joke. I think this is the most important video I have ever seen about mobile games. This guy breaks down how this game psychologically profiles you, and makes the game harder or easier in order to show you ads

A genuinely good news story - the building is now safe from developers forever. And the comfort-food-heavy menu will stay as is (not least the dessert menu, where one option is an entire Stilton cheese and two spoons with which to dig out as much as you want). www.theguardian.com/food/2026/oc...
