Kilmeade quoting Trump from the “Fox News Freedom Bunker” is beyond Orwell’s wildest dreams and impervious to satire. The amount of joy I will have when all this insanity ends will be immeasurable.

July 4th, 2026, Washington DC. Patriot Front ride the metro to their hateful little march. Her face sums it all up to me. A mixture of defiance and weariness. Both born out of lifetimes of having to put up with this shit. She knows only too well that America never stopped being a racist country.

So here’s a thought experiment about AI coding that I haven’t seen posed: if you think of the best current coding agent as an employee, would you keep that employee after having had to live with code, fixing the bugs and security vulnerabilities?

Completely agree, especially since writing is thinking. But also recall the AI* booster who claimed that no one likes making music? futurism.com/suno-ai-ceo-....

futurism.comCEO of Song-Generating AI App Says People "Don't Enjoy" Making Music With InstrumentsMikey Shulman, the CEO of AI music generator company Suno AI, argued that most people don't enjoy the "majority of time" making music.
Kevin M. Kruse@kevinmkruse.bsky.social

I think the reason AI propagandists are so flustered by the fact that no real writer wants to use their idiotic tools is that they themselves don't enjoy writing. They see it as a boring arduous chore to be avoided, while real writers actually enjoy writing and actually care about the quality of it.

Complaining that following the Constitution will stop you from doing the thing you want to do is... an admission that what you want to do is unconstitutional. You swore an oath to defend the Constitution. You are violating that oath, Rep. Alford. Time to go home and let someone else do the job.

Prisons are for people who've been CONVICTED of crimes. Most people in these warehouses - without proper food or sanitation or worse - haven't even been CHARGED with crimes. And thousands are CHILDREN. This will be another of America's greatest shames.

Here's @rickhasen.bsky.social detailing the scenario in which Trump uses search warrant to seize ballot boxes in a contested 2026 locale. This is more worrisome than ICE at the polls. Hasen also suggests ways to act against this now. It's harrowing stuff: newrepublic.com/article/2062...

Minneapolis residents are trying a new tactic to slow and deter federal agents from entering city neighborhoods. Called filter blockades, they’re pop-up block parties in the middle of city streets, and they’ve already earned the ire of Trump border czar Tom Homan (1) www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...

The killing of Alex Pretti and the grotesque lying was an overreach by the administration. They've paid a price and had to pull back a bit. But it's when there's some disarray that the democratic opposition needs to intensify the offensive, and turn a marginal tactical success into a major victory.

This is horrifying for an entirely different reason: why does Eric think the people of Minneapolis are the *enemy* at all??? They seemingly don't even know why the American Revolution happened, and that the administration (and Eric and Joe) are the modern-day British oppressors.

Frost: For so long, the right wing has held up patriotism as a vibe, as an aesthetic. But patriotism is more than bald eagles and flags and beer. Patriotism is about loving the people who live in the damn country — every single one of them.

If you are a Democrat and you don't think that Gregory Bovino has repeatedly proven himself unfit for a government job long before a tweet this week, you should step aside and let someone do the job who can do the job.

Mike Masnick@masnick.com

Call me crazy, but I don't think the question of whether or not Bovino belongs in his job depends on whether or not he deletes the tweet he made calling protesters "cannon fodder." Making the tweet (along with many other things he's done) should disqualify him from any law enforcement job ever.
